Australian Bluebell Creeper, Sollya heterophylla
  • £9.99

Not often offered for sale in the UK, Sollya heterophylla is an evergreen climber which is grown for its nodding clusters of blue, bluebell-like flowers. Also known as the Australian bluebell creeper, it's perfect for training over a pergola or arch in a sheltered, sunny spot in milder parts of the UK. In cooler regions Sollya is perfect to grow in a container, which can be moved into a greenhouse or conservatory before the cold weather hits. The dainty, perfectly formed flowers contrast beautifully with the light green leaves and are followed in August-September by edible, sausage-shaped, blue-purple berries around 2.5cm in length, giving you plenty of garden interest throughout the year. When fully grown, the Bluebell Creeper can reach approximately 1.5m (5ft) in height when supported and makes an ideal candidate for a container where it tends to remain bushier. Fully deserving its coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit, you can be sure that this is a proven garden performer, guaranteed to be suitable for UK gardeners at every level of experience. You can therefore plant this in the garden with confidence, for stunning displays for many years to come. Supplied as an established plant in a 2L pot, ready to be planted into its final position. Reaches 1.5m, flowering June to September.

Bears Paw Fern Phlebodium Blue Star Indoor Plant 12cm Pot
  • £9.99

Not your ordinary fern, the Bears Paw Fern (Phlebodium 'Blue Star) is an attractive and vigorous houseplant with a subtle deep blue-green leaf colour, looking almost like an exotic indoor seaweed! Evergreen, it does not lose its leaves and retains its wonderful colour all year making it a decorative and striking plant to decorate your home. As the plant grows, the fronds develop finger-shaped lobes as they mature, held on long stems and looking very much like an outstretched paw, hence its more common name of Bear's Paw or Rabbit Foot. Easy to grow and look after, your Bear's Paw will tolerate low light. As a natural inhabitant of tropical rainforests, Phlebodium does like its humidity high so is perfect for a bathroom or kitchen where it will thrive in a bright spot, out of direct sunlight. An interesting and unusual fern, Blue Star is also perfect for cutting and flower arranging so don't be afraid to conjure up your inner designer! Supplied as an established plant in a 12cm pot, growing to around 30cm x 30cm. Please note that the decorative pot is not included.Care GuideKeep the compost moist (but not waterlogged) at all times except winter when plants are dormant and water can be cut down (but do not allow to dry out so that the compost shrinks from the side of the pot). If you can't place it in a humid atmosphere like your bathroom you can still grow this plant, just mist the leaves regularly with water and or place the pot on a tray of damp pebbles. Keep your fern at 18-25C. Feed with a general-purpose plant food once a month. When watering, pour water around the sides of the plant, as pouring it the middle can cause water to get caught at the bases of the leaves, which can result in rot. This product is offered for sale for home delivery exclusively via our website only.
