Papaver nudicaule, better known as the Icelandic Poppy, is like a ray of sunshine to your summer border! Each wide, saucer-shaped bloom opens to reveal crushed-silk petals and a bright yellow boss of stamens at the centre. These cheery short-lived perennials are generally grown as annuals, for sprinkling through sunny borders, rockeries and wildlife gardens.
All America Selections Bronze Medal winner for 1985. Extremely large flowers often 12in long, produced in abundance. Colours are scarlet, yellow, cream, rose and deep red.
