Without doubt one of sweetest apples you'll ever taste. 'Fuji Kiku' is renowned for its flavour and almost complete lack of acidity, which only serves to enhance the sweetness more! The large, ruby red apples have thin, lighter coloured stripes and look stunning when hanging ripe on the tree. Perfect for eating fresh from the branch, juicy and firm with a good crunch, they also retain their shape well when cooked, so they're ideal for pies and tarts, and make a particularly good, naturally sweet applesauce. Ready to harvest from late October, these late season apples keep well, so you can enjoy your harvest into the next year. 'Fuli Kiku' requires another apple tree nearby to pollinate it, but given the popularity for growing-your-own fruit and vegetables, you can be sure that there will be one close by. Clematis 'Fujimusume' produces purple-blue single flowers up to 20cm (8) across that contrast beautifully with the creamy-yellow anthers. The flowers appear in June and July and then again in later summer, followed by stunning golden seed heads which extend the season of interest well into the autumn. Worthy of a prominent position in your garden, this RHS AGM winner is tough and relatively compact, making it ideal for growing against walls and fences or even in a large patio container. Better known as the Balloon Flower for its starry flowers that burst from rounded, balloon-like buds. Platycodon grandiflorus 'Fuji Blue' is a dainty perennial with a free flowering habit. This undemanding plant will supply a splash of bright blue at the front of perennial borders or rockeries throughout the summer months.
