Each of its large, showy double blooms is accompanied by a delightful light fragrance! Repeat-flowering, disease resistant and easy to grow, this hardy, vigorous Hybrid Tea variety is a brilliant garden performer. Endorsed by the RHS Award of Garden Merit and public alike - It has been voted World's Favourite Rose too in 1976. It is steeped in history and was named in 1945 to commemorate the end of World War II, having been smuggled out of France as a seedling during hostilities. Later that year Peace roses were given to delegations at the inaugural meeting of the United Nations with a note that read We hope the Peace rose will influence mens thoughts for everlasting world peace. 'Peace is the finest Hybrid Tea ever raised and it will remain a standard variety forever' - Peter Beales, Rose Expert.Top Tips- To prune, just remove any dead, dying, damaged and diseased stems and also deadhead regularly. Traditionally, you would cut just above a leaf joint with a sloping cut away from the bud, however, this isn't necessary, and don’t worry about pruning too much - roses are very resilient and will grow back. When pruning, make sure that your secateurs are clean and sharp to prevent squashing stems and introducing disease. Add mycorrhizal fungi to the roots when planting to help the plant establish quicker.Care Guide- Roses can be planted at any time of the year, as long as the soil is not frozen, waterlogged or drought-dry.- Plant your rose where it can get plenty of sun for at least half of the day, and where it will be sheltered from the wind.- Roses tolerate wide range of soils but thrive in deep, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil, so add plenty of well-rotted manure into the hole if necessary and plant so that the graft union (the swollen area when the stems meet the roots) is around 3cm below soil level.- Water well every other day - daily if the weather is hot and dry. Established roses can be watered around once a week through spring and summer - more if the weather is hot.- For best results, feed roses in late-March/April and again in late July.Planting Time:October - AprilFlowering Time:May - OctoberAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire. Three Variety Family Pear Tree
  • £24.99

If you love pears but only have room for one fruit tree, here is the perfect solution, as this tree has three different varieties growing on the same plant. It's not a freak of nature but the result of skilful grafting work by expert nurserymen who have grafted 2 additional varieties onto another pear tree. By careful selection of varieties you can be sure all three parts of the tree will grow in harmony and the fruits will ripen at their natural time, giving a succession of tasty fruits across a much wider cropping window than if just one variety were grown. No need to worry about pollination either, as the three varieties on the tree will pollinate each other! Your Family pear tree will thrive in a sunny border and, far from being just a curiosity, will mature into a highly productive tree. You can expect the first crop as soon as the year after planting. This is also the perfect fruit tree for a large pot on the patio. The main tree is Williams - a classic English pear with meltingly juicy flesh that is ready in mid-September. Onto this have been grafted: Conference - the perfect all-rounder. Elongated fruit are ready to pick in October for ripening through autumn.  Deliciously sweet when ripe, they are also the perfect cooking pear. Abbe Fetel - not a familar name perhaps, but widely seen in shops, imported from Italy, where it is the favourite variety. It gives medium-sized pears with an aromatic, honeyed sweetness. Pick in October. Keep cool and bring the fruits in to ripen as needed through to Christmas. Supplied as a Three Variety Family Pear Tree, in a 3L pot, approx. 80-100cm tall including pot.
