Lavatera, also known as 'tree mallow', is a must-have for every garden! Large, shrubby perennials, their impressive, hollyhock-like flower spikes stand up to 2 metres tall and will burst into an abundance of colour all summer long. 'Rosea' is one of the prettiest Lavatera, with large, rose-pink blooms - perfect for creating a Mediterranean or tropical mood in your garden and for contrasting with leafy perennials. This large, versatile plant is equally happy in a cottage garden scheme. Ideal for hot, sunny spots, they are great plants for climbing up walls and trellises. You can also prune them to grow in pots on the patio. Incredibly vigorous, these are some of the easiest plants to grow and are perfect for beginners. Supplied as an established plant in a 9cm pot, Lavatera 'Rosea' will bloom from June to September, reaching an approximate height of 200cm.
Growing well in conditions that other plants would struggle in, Sea Buckthorn is a perfect hedging plant for coastal areas as it prefers dry, sandy soils. Its small, silvery leaves cover prickly/thorny stems making it great for security hedging and the yellow flowers which appear in late spring turn into bright orange berries that are packed with vitamin C!
Strawberry ?Marshmello? is a mid-season variety which produces exceptionally sweet fruit.
Strawberry ?Korona? is an early fruiting variety which produces very large, juicy fruits which are very dark in colour.
Fragrant rose pink flower spikes rise on short stems above neat, grey-green foliage. With its pretty pink blooms, Lavandula angustifolia 'Rosea' makes a lovely alternative to the traditional purple English Lavenders.
Strawberry ?Pegasus? is a mid to late season variety and an RHS award winner.
Crepe Myrtle, or Lagerstroemia indica is a wonderful large shrub that is often seen on the continent, and now we can bring it to UK, where it's sure to make a dramatic impact! This crepe myrtle produces masses of flamboyant deep rose pink flowers in 20cm long panicles that will smother it in summer and autumn, attracting bees and butterflies into your garden to feast on the fabulous blooms. The flowers are large and frilly, and produced on the current season's growth. The foliage is bronze when young, before maturing into dark green with large leaves 8cm long, and with attractive peeling grey and brown bark and great autumn foliage colour, Lagerstroemia puts on a spectacular show for most of the year. Hardy to -5°C, it'll need some protection during the coldest winters, and it can be grown in a large pot to make sheltering it easier.
