Pencil Grass
  • £24.99

Juncus ‘Pencil Grass’ originates from Africa. It is suitable for home and garden, and a great addition along a pond edge. Very graceful plant with deep green round grass stalks. While these exotic plants look hard to grow, they’re fairly easy to grow indoors and out! Indoors, use juncus to add flair to your desk at work or school, or as a dramatic accent in your kitchen, living room, or den. Its grey-green leaves are a lovely neutral colour, making it work with just about any interior colour scheme. Outdoors, Juncus is perfect for garden beds and borders, as well as adding fantastic texture to container gardens. Light and Water If the roots are able to sit in shallow water, it can tolerate full sun, but partial shade is ideal for this plant when it is displayed indoors. Because this is a marginal aquatic plant, soil should always be kept moist, Water the plant liberally as it likes moist soil. In fact, it's tough to overwater this unusual houseplant! Juncus appreciates fertilizer once or twice a year. You can use any houseplant fertilizer, following the directions on the product packaging. Outdoors, grow juncus in sun or shade. It does best in evenly moist or even wet soil. While it doesn't require fertilizer outdoors, you can fertilize juncus with any general-purpose fertilizer. Follow the directions on the product packaging. Pruning typically isn't necessary. To ensure constantly moist soil, pots that have drain-age may be partially submerged into another container filled with water, replicating the bog-like conditions in which this plant naturally grows.

Cordyline Fruti Mambo
  • £24.99

Cordyline ‘Mambo’ is a wonderfully colourful tropical foliage plant, with lovely glossy maroon tinged leaves that branch off a central stem. They form in a manner similar to Dracaena (they are both members of the same family), with their lower leaves dying to encourage new growth as the plant develops, so some light pruning will be needed throughout the year. Just tug at the dying leaves when they looked withered or brown, they should pull easily if it is their time to go. Cordyline's are great plants which brighten up any corner of a room or an office environment. Light and Water For best results, this plant requires free draining medium fertile soil and placed in a partial sun position, avoid direct sunlight. The plant does like light, but not strong, midday sunshine. In summer you can water freely and feed weekly but in winter water sparingly. This tropical plant needs very high humidity. That is why we spray the leaves at least once per week. This prevents the leaf edges from drying out. Always keep the potting soil moist, without letting the plant stand in water.

Weeping Fig - Anastasia
  • £24.99

Ficus Benjamina ‘Anastasia’ is also known as the 'Weeping Fig'. This is a beautiful classic indoor plant ideal for the house or office being prized for its many glossy dark variegated foliage. As a bonus it also filters toxins purifying the air! Light and Water This ornamental tree is very adaptable in terms of light; soil and weather growing with minimal care both in-doors and out in warm climates. It will tolerate lower light, but prefers bright, indirect light, and just asks that it not be allowed to dry out. Try rotating it once a week so it grows towards the light and keeps straight. You can also encourage it to grow more strongly by giving it a feed with plant fertiliser once a month in spring and summer. Water the soil to keep it moist but not soggy, allow the top two inches of the soil to dry out before watering again to maintain its ideal wetness. Mist regularly to keep the leaves healthy and green as this is the plant can also absorb moisture through their leaves.

Alocasia Amazonica Polly
  • £24.99

A striking and beautiful houseplant, Alocasia Amazonica is a robust evergreen perennial with dark green, narrowly arrow-shaped, wavy-edged leaves, growing up to 2 ft. long (60 cm). When grown in preferred conditions and given proper care, this hybrid Alocasia will grace your indoors with its lush growth and distinctly coloured leaves for years to come. Light and Water For the best performance and for the foliage to retain its deep green colouring, it is best to situate your Alocasia Amazonica in a location that receives bright indirect light. If you live in an area where the temperatures and light conditions are not intense can place it in a location that receives direct sunlight. If placed in a location lacking enough light the plant loses its colour, including the leaf veins and can eventually die. Even when placed in a location that receives a medium amount of light, the plant won’t be happy and won’t produce the best growth and leaf coloration as when placed in a brighter location. So, experiment on locations and keep an eye of its health and change locations where necessary. As with most tropical plants, maintain evenly moist but not soggy soil during the growing season, watering when the surface begins to dry. Reduce watering significantly in winter.

Golden Pothos
  • £24.99

A super hardy houseplant that is great for new plant parents. Pretty variegated green and yellow leaves, it will grow long vines so looks great on shelves or as a hanging plant. Light and Water This beautiful plant will tolerate a range of light conditions, including lower indirect light areas, but thrives in moderate sunlight and bright light indoors. So, experiment with different locations in your house and remember the paler it’s leaves the more light it needs. Bright light will help promote and enhance the beautiful yellow variegation in the leaves. A very hardy and easy to care for houseplant. In fact, it is almost impossible to kill it and will remain green even when kept in the dark. Water when you feel the top two inches of the soil is dry, if you see browning water more regularly. Let the soil dry out completely before watering again.

Bird's Nest Fern
  • £25.99

The Asplenium ‘Birds Nest’ is a wide leafed Asplenium, adding a decorative touch to your home or office. These lush, tropical ferns form nest-like rosettes, with leaves emerging in a circular pattern from the centre of the plant hence their name. The glossy fronds are highly efficient at converting CO2 into oxygen and cleaning the air. It is also one of the longest living pot plants and extremely easy to look after, making it excellent value for money. Light and Water Bird's Nest Ferns thrive in medium to bright indirect light and tolerate low light as well. Avoid direct sunlight and deep shade. They do not like hot dry conditions, so mist regularly if your home isn’t very humid. Water when the top two inches of the soil is dry to touch, and water just enough to fully saturate. This will keep the soil moist throughout without it sitting in water. Allow water to drain freely.
