Tulips are said to signal the arrival of spring so it’s no wonder the humble tulip is a real symbol of the season. Widely available from December to April, these cheerful flowers never fail to brighten up the home or garden.
Dispite popular belief Tulips do not originate from Holland but instead they actually come from Central Asia. Originally from Persia and Turkey, tulips were brought to Europe in the 16th century, where the flower earned its name due to its resemblance to a turban (tülbend in Turkish).

Tulip Liberation was named at a special ceremony in 2014 to celebrate 70 years of liberation following World War II. Bulbs of this variety were planted in only a few select places including Kew Gardens in London and the islands of Jersey and Guernsey which were both occupied during the war. These are great for borders and as cut flowers.
New Design' is a reliably flowering tulip with classic, cup-shaped blooms upon sturdy stems. The petals are a delightful soft pink flushed with white and primrose-yellow. A superb addition to beds, borders and containers and excellent for cutting. Ht. 40-50cm. Supplied as bulbs.
