The colouring of this weigela is certainly unusual, with rich dark green foliage that takes on hints of deep purple as the summer progresses, it's a delightfully compact, low growing, spreading flowering shrub that will bring you months of colour with the most beautiful leaves and flowers.
The foliage forms a wonderfully contrasting backdrop for the red-throated, white trumpet shaped flowers that covers the stems in early summer, great for livening up the front of the border and will also do well in pots.
