Description |
Caryopteris are compact deciduous shrubs that boast a profusion of delicate flowers in clusters along arching branches in bright shades or lavender and blue.
A Royal Horticultural Society 'Plant for Pollinators', caryopteris is a magnet for bees, butterflies and a host of other pollinating insects, attracted by the dense clusters of dainty flowers in August and September.
Easy to grow and drought tolerant, caryopteris is happy in a pot or in the ground in a sheltered location and is the ideal size for the middle of the border, and the foliage provides a wonderful colour contrast for surrounding planting.
Supplied as a pair of established plants in 9cm pots, ready to plant. Reaching a height and spread of 1m (3ft), including:
Caryopteris 'Heavenly Blue' - commonly known as Bluebeard, dazzles with its amazingly intense blue flowers and aromatic grey-green foliage.
Caryopteris 'Worcester Gold' - has masses of small lavender-blue flowers. However, it's the foliage that make this plant special, with its leaves in shades of yellow, 'Worcester Gold' really stands out from other plants.
