Description |
A cottage garden favourite, Calendula, also know as the English or pot marigold is a hardy annual that will flower from late spring and all summer long.
'Fiesta' explodes into colour with double flowers in hot oranges and yellows from May until the first autumn frosts. They look spectacular planted en masse in beds, borders and planters and they make great cut flowers.
Calendulas like a sunny location and fertile soil, and once established they will cope very well with wet or dry weather, giving you dazzling colour, month after month, and pollinators and other insects find them extremely attractive too.
Sometimes referred to as 'poor man's saffron', the petals are edible and make a colourful salad garnish with a peppery taste, and they can be used to colour and flavour rice too.
Fully deserving its coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit, you can be sure that this is a proven garden performer, guaranteed to be suitable for UK gardeners at every level of experience. You can therefore plant this in the garden with confidence, for a stunning summer display.
Supplied as 20 garden ready plants, ready to plant in your garden and growing to a height and spread of 25 cm (10 in).
