Award winning, long and slender beans with yellow, stringless pods that are slightly sweeter tasting than green varieties, have a succulent, firm texture that grow in compact plants which show good resistance to disease. Regular picking is recommended to encourage further cropping. Both outdoor and indoor sowing possible but note that windy sites may need support with twigs. Easy to grow and versatile, peas and beans make a delicious and nutritious addition to any meal. As well as being a traditional side, legumes also provide a terrific source of protein for a vegan diet. Peas and broad beans prefer cool conditions but need to be grown in full sun or partial shade. Short on space? Many varieties are well suited to growing in plant pots.
