Finalist for 2019 B&LLA Licensing Awards and Winner of the Cultural Enterprise Award 2020. Inspired by the impressive masterpiece by George Stubbs, our florists have created a stunning hatbox arrangement. Whistlejacket is one of the most important and iconic British paintings of the eighteenth century and is also probably the most well known portraits of a horse. The Arabian chestnut stallion was believed to have won a famous victory in York in 1759. The owner who was the 2nd Marquess of Rockingham, commissioned Stubbs to paint a life-size portrait of his prize horse. He excluded any reference of the rised and focused purely on the stallion against a background of pale gold, he wanted to show the horse free from human control which makes this painting even more precious. Our florists have included Cafe Del Mar Roses, Caramel Carnations, Contoured Willow, Cinerea Eucalyptus, Bronze Ruscus and fresh Rosemary.
