Pair of Box Pyramids
  • £69.99

Whatever plant is used, topiary of any kind always draws attention, bringing elegance to the garden like few other things can. Buxus, or Box, is the classic plant for growing as topiary because of its glossy, evergreen foliage and small leaves which lend themselves perfectly to being clipped into precise shapes. Box topiary provides valuable structure in the garden all year round and our classic pyramids are the perfect example. Planted in borders they provide a beautiful focal point, and they look stunning when grown in eye-catching pots and arranged either side of a door or gate, or lining a path. Recommended by the RHS as a 'Plant for Pollinators', box has tiny yellow spring flowers, which although hardly noticeable to us, are favourite with butterflies and bees. Incredibly tough and fully winter hardy, box is slow growing so its shape stays looking neat with little more than a light trim just twice a year. Clipping these plants is so therapeutic, and once you have topiary in your garden, you're certain to want more and more! Supplied as a pair of established plants in 26cm pots, 60-70cm in height.

Pair of Buxus Box Balls
  • £49.99

It's hard to beat the sleek and simple lines of well-trimmed quality Buxus balls, adding a smart, modern, yet classic, look to any garden. Whether dressing either side of a classic porch, or in minimalist decking gardens, it's hard to think of another easy to grow, yet versatile plant as god as Box. Totally hardy too, leave them out all year - they look great covered in snow too!! Grown by arguably Europe's best Box growers in Holland, the quality is second to none. Grown slowly over 5 years, regularly trimmed 2 or 3 times a year to get the fabulous razor-sharp ball shape, they are super-green and fresh, and the centres have none of the brown middle die-back cheaper Box can suffer from. You may buy cheaper, but not better we are sure. The key with Box is not to let them dry out - especially when in full sun for much of the day. Keep the roots cool and well-watered. Trim with sharp shears once or twice a year, and feed with a balanced fertiliser from May to September, applied to the soil. Start thinking of those containers you may put them in now, and take advantage of these very special quality plants,. Supplied as a pair of Box balls 25-30cm diameter in 22cm pots.
