Top Tips- Do not allow young plants to dry out. Check regularly and water to keep the soil moist.Care GuidePlanting Advice for your Box plants:- Plant box in autumn or spring in fertile, well-drained soil and keep it watered, especially if grown in full sun.- Pot-grown plants can be planted any time of year as long as the ground is not wet or waterlogged.- Box will tolerate shade so is great for growing underneath trees and makes superb border edging.- Suitable for growing in a wide range of containers, why not try your hand at a range of topiary styles and shapes - it's great as a way to get kids involved with gardening and isn't just reserved for grand estates!Aftercare Advice for Buxus:- Besides keeping plants well-watered, box appreciates a light top dressing with a slow release, general purpose fertiliser such as fish blood & bone in early spring, taking care to avoid the leaves. Pruning Advice for Box:- Pruning box is simple. Box is best clipped in July and August - any earlier and you risk damage from late frosts which can damage soft new growth while any later means that the new shoots are not hardened sufficiently for the following winter.- Old, scruffy plants can be clipped to 15-30cm of the ground (6-12in) to rejuvenate them.- The small leaf size of Buxus means that you can achieve a whole range of topiary shapes and styles with the minimum of experience - box is remarkably resilient.Planting Time:All yearAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire. Phoenix Canariensis - Canary Island Date Palms - 2x Mature Potted Plants
  • £29.99

This product is offered for sale for home delivery exclusively via our website only. The images represent established plants, the supplied product may be younger. All heights listed are approximate and fully established plant heights may vary. The amount of foliage, buds or bloom on the plant will depend on what part of the season the product is purchased. Please see description below for full product details.A relative of the date palm, Phoenix canariensis is a large palm tree, with spreading deep green leaves arching elegantly from its attractive, stout trunk. During a hot summer, drooping bunches of creamy-yellow flowers may appear. Holding a prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit, the Canary Island date palm makes an excellent evergreen specimen plant for the patio or conservatory. Bring the warm glow and bright colours of the Mediterranean into your garden without the cost of a plane ticket. Mediterranean plants are a good way to create a strong focal point that will have visitors talking about and admiring for a long time. Supplied as a pair of mature potted plants, approx. 70-80cm tall (3ft) tall and in 15cm diameter pots. Top Tips- Despite looking like desert palms and being drought tolerant, to get best results, water them really well in spring & summer - do not let dry out.- In colder spots, bring in for winter, or tie fronds up together in a bundle to protect the centre of the palm.- If you're lucky enough to get shoots at the base of Phoenix canariensis, these can be carefully detached, along with any roots, and used for propagation. Pot each shoot in an 8cm (3 inch) pot of the standard potting mixture, place it in bright filtered light and water it sparingly-just enough to keep the mixture barely moist. After new top growth indicates that the shoot is well rooted, treat the young plant in the same way as a mature Phoenix canariensis palm.Care Guide- A slowly growing tree, Phoenix canariensis is easy to grow and care for .- Thriving in a sheltered site in full sun, with some shade at midday the Phoenix Palm is best grown on the Patio in a large pot and brought under cover in the winter.- When in growth, watering moderately and feed with a balanced fertiliser once a month at half strength. Water sparingly in winter.- If the plant becomes pot bound, pot on into containers 2.5cm (1 inch) larger when new growth starts in spring, using a compost with good drainage. In years when re-potting is not carried out, top-dress by removing 5cm (2in) of old compost from the top of the pot and replacing with fresh.- Pruning will only be needed to remove old fronds, which hang below horizontal. Do not remove those growing upright since this may slow the growth and reduce the palm vigour - remember that this palm has spines and sharp edges; use extreme caution when handling.Planting Time:March - AugustFlowering Time:June - AugustFruiting Time:SeptemberAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire. Plug plant perennials are a quick and easy way to achieve the look you want for your garden year after year! As they have been partially grown already, you can see how they will look and make landscaping your garden a breeze.Supplied as a collection of 12 plants, two each of the following varieties:- 'Lady Margo' bicoloured magenta flowers with a contrasting white edge.- 'Rosy Rosalyn' bicoloured ruby red flowers with a contrasting pink edge.- 'Aunt Agatha' bicoloured deep burgundy flowers with a striking white edge.- 'Mrs Coho' bicoloured salmon pink flowers with a edged in pink.- 'Queen Helene' rich coral pink flowers.- 'Blushing Bride' bright pink flowersTop Tips- Regular deadheading will ensure flowers right up to the first frosts.Care GuidePlanting Advice:- For most jumbo plug plant collections, the “mini Greenhouse” they are packed in will have a label on the outside, listing the individual varieties inside. We recommend writing your own labels out on receipt!- Give your plugs a little attention on arrival - unpack them immediately, and either mist them or stand them in water for an hour - they may be slightly dry or yellow after being in a dark box in the post, but they’ll quickly recover.- If you can’t do this, they can sit in Mini Greenhouses for a week if upright and not too wet.- We recommend that you leave them to settle for a day somewhere warm, light and airy such as a windowsill or greenhouse.- When you're ready to pot on, use a good quality, multi-purpose compost, and fill 3-4in pots (7-10cm).- Make a hole in the compost with a dibber or your finger, then holding each plug by its root ball, place it into the hole and gently firm the compost around it.- For great results, we recommend using our Windowsill Planters or 9cm pots in Shuttle Trays.- Give your plants a good water initially, then only when the top compost starts to dry as they don’t like to be left in standing water.- Grow on either on a bright windowsill or a greenhouse for 3-4 weeks before potting up into containers or into flower beds.- If planting directly into flower beds when all risk of frost has passed, prepare the ground well, removing weeds and digging in some compost or well-rotted manure if your soil is not already rich.- Plant approx. 20cm (8in) apart to allow them room to grow.Aftercare Advice:- Feed using a high-potash feed such as Blooming Fast Superior Soluble Fertiliser for Flowers & Fruits, to encourage flowering.- Dead head when flowers fade to encourage more blooms.Planting Time:February - NovemberFlowering Time:May - OctoberAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire. If in doubt, err towards spring but remember to keep pots well-watered so that the soil does not dry out.Care GuidePlanting Advice for Sweet Sunshine:- Dig a planting hole 3 x wider than the roots of the shrub you're planting and mix some well-rotted compost or manure with the soil from the hole and use this to re-fill once the shrub is in place.- We've found that a square hole is better than a round one as the new roots, once they reach the edges tend to grow in a circle round the circumference of the hole whereas when they reach the corners of a square hole, they find it easier to grow through.- Before planting soak container-grown shrubs thoroughly and allow to drain.- Remove the plant from its pot and tease out a few of the roots.- Add Mycorrhizal fungi to the roots when planting to help plants establish quicker.- Place your raspberry in the hole at the same level at the pot.- Refill the hole with the earth removed (backfilling).- Firm in the soil with your heel, avoiding the root ball and water well.- Perfect for growing in a container, simply place some old rocks, stones or gravel in the bottom of the pot for drainage and ballast, then use the best compost you can buy and some sand or grit for drainage.Pruning Advice for Sweet Sunshine:- This floricane raspberry will fruit on last year's stems in the summer.- In the autumn, cut down this year’s fruiting canes to the ground leaving the other new canes for the following years crop.Aftercare Advice for your Raspberry:- Feed during the growing season with a general-purpose fertiliser such as fish blood and bone and water regularly during the summer.- Cover the ripening fruit with netting to protect from birds.Planting Time:February - NovemberFlowering Time:May - JuneAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire. • £16.99

This product is offered for sale for home delivery exclusively via our website only. The images represent established plants, the supplied product may be younger. All heights listed are approximate and fully established plant heights may vary. The amount of foliage, buds or bloom on the plant will depend on what part of the season the product is purchased. Please see description below for full product details. While closest to the cranberry in looks, lingonberries are way more productive and reliable with more robust growth that makes them a better option. Perfect for containers as well as the fruit garden - just plant them in a sunny or semi shaded place in ericaceous soil and get ready to enjoy the harvest from late July. Bush fruit gives you the chance to grow your own fruit in a smaller area. It is also easier to harvest as on a lower level than trees. Supplied as an established plant in a 2L pot, ready for immediate planting. Top Tips- Plants should be watered with rain water. If you need to use tap water, then use in conjunction with an ericaceous fertilizer which will neutralise any lime present and will replenish nutrients in pot-grown specimens.Care Guide- Although self-fertile and able to produce a good crop on their own, lingonberries will yield much more heavily if planted near another plant.- Plant in well-drained, acidic soil in a sunny, sheltered spot.- If your garden soil has a pH over 5.5, your Lingonberry is best grown in a pot, in ericaceous soil. Keep it well-watered - don’t allow the soil to dry out.- Water Lingonberries with rainwater if you can as tap water will gradually raise pH levels.- Feed every month with a liquid fertiliser for ericaceous (lime-hating) plants.- If growing Lingonberries in the garden, add plenty of organic matter such as pine needles or composted conifer clippings. Avoid farmyard manure as it will scorch the roots.- Pruning is rarely needed – just take out any damaged, dead, and diseased wood as necessaryPlanting Time:February - NovemberFlowering Time:May - JulyFruiting Time:July - SeptemberAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire.
