Popular since Victorian times and in those days said to be the Queen's favourite flower, this is a heritage variety with a modern twist as it has benefited from re-selection over the years to make a wonderful garden plant for today. Each extra large flower head opens from appleblossom pink rosebud buds held in a dense cluster, forming a luxurious salmony fully double inflorescence which lasts for many days. The blooms keep coming right through the summer months and well into autumn and contrast perfectly against the bright green faintly zoned foliage. This is the perfect plant for a large patio container and also makes a lovely plant for indoors. Why not enjoy it outdoors for the summer and re-pot for indoors when the weather turns colder. Supplied as 6 plug plants, ready to grow on before planting out.
A new and exciting development in succulent breeding that is taking the gardening world by storm. The 'Pineapple Express' is a fascinating cross between the Manfreda and the Agave, Mangaves are becoming increasingly popular as the interest in Xeric landscaping grows - the process of gardening that reduces or eliminates the need for supplemental moisture from watering. Manfredas have rosettes of coloured leaves branching from a very short stem, often with creamy, tubular flowers at the end of a long stalk. Agaves on the other hand are well known for their strong succulent leaves that form large rosettes. These interesting hybrids combine the best features of both types: the better growth rate and the interesting patterns and colours of Manfreda, and the habit and refinement of Agave. Varieties can be spotted, blotched or plain green in various shades and with an interesting texture, they can be a bit pointy, but not as prickly as a cactus. Some of the varieties have interesting leaf shape too, from slim and long to short and broad and wavy or straight too. The 'Pineapple Express' is a beautifully spotted Mangave with light green leaves that during the summer months come to life when the colours are heighten thanks to the sun. Compact in growth and visually stunning, Mangaves make a perfect patio plant, sitting happily in a pot through the summer on your decking or balcony, they will then make a perfect houseplant through the winter in a bright room. All varieties should be watered only sparingly as they are ideally suited to dessert, arid conditions and are lovers of warm temperatures - they make an ideal specimen for a greenhouse or as a houseplant for bright rooms - indeed anything less than 65°F will result in the plant becoming dormant. Supplied as an established plant in a 19cm pot, ready to plant.

Here's a real novelty indoor plant that will provide interest every day as you see your own deliciously sweet pineapple develop atop this well-established, potted plant. A member of the Bromeliad family, it's the perfect indoor plant for a sunny kitchen or conservatory windowsill, needing little care and attention save a little water and the occasional feed. The plants are exactly the same as those used in commercial pineapple plantations across the world, so you can be assured of the best tasting fruit - right here in the UK on your windowsill. Do not confuse these big specimens with tiny decorative, non-edible plant available elsewhere online. Each plant is delivered with a pineapple fruit already growing so your plant is guaranteed to fruit this year. For best results water the compost keeping it moist and also keep a little water in the cups of the leaf rosette. When the pineapple is plump and ripe (about the size of an orange) remove and enjoy! Once the fruit is removed, an offset will appear which may fruit in following years and an entirely new plant can even be raised by cutting off the leaf crown and planting in compost.
Grow something really different this year and amaze your friends and family with homegrown pineapple guavas. A striking, year-round plant, Feijoa sellowiana 'Mammoth' is an evergreen shrub with attractive, grey-green, furry leaves, and exotic red flowers which are followed by juicy, sweetly aromatic, pineapple-flavoured fruits. Also known as Acca or the Pineapple Guava, the pink and red fluffy flowers appear in May and being self-fertile, produce their crop of edible, red-flushed green fruit without the need for a second tree (although productivity is improved with two). the fruits are roughly egg-shaped and about 3 inches long with a waxy green skin and drop once they are ripe. Alternatively, you can pick them before they ripen and finish them indoors to prevent bruising. Hardy enough to grow in the UK climate, Feijowa is drought tolerant once established and can reach up to 3m (10ft) if left unpruned in a sheltered, sunny corner of the garden. Supplied as an established plant in a 9cm pot, ready to plant up straight away.
