Buddleja davidii 'Nanho Blue' is a vigorous and fast-growing Butterfly Bush, perfect for the back of a large border. Its silvery-green foliage is accompanied by a profusion of rich plumes of lavender-blue flowers from June to September, attracting both butterflies and pollinating insects in abundance to these fragrant and nectar-rich blooms. 'Buddy' is recent introduction to everbearing strawberries and is taking the supermarket world by storm. Now we are delighted to be able to offer it to the home gardener to grow themselves. Everbearing Strawberries are great for spreading strawberry fruit production out. Starting slightly later than the Wimbledon peak, they have a big yield in mid to late July, but then keep going through August - peaking again in September and continuing to crop until first frosts! This makes eating and using the crops easier, not one huge glut! Everbearers have historically not been quite as good on the taste scores as traditional 'June bearers', but 'Buddy' breaks the mould here. It produces big fruit with great taste, and is the sweetest of any everbearer to date (winning many taste-tests), hence its popularity with supermarkets. And it is a great cropper too - commercial trials showed almost 1Kg per plant in year 2 and 3 (just over 2 pounds per plant). A beautiful new Buddleia for gardens of all sizes, 'High Five Purple' is a wonderful dwarf variety with all the features of its full-sized relatives, but in a miniature! Bright green foliage gives rise to an abundance of large, upright flower spikes from spring until autumn, each one densely packed with hundreds of individual double purple flowers that carry a sweet, honey-like fragrance. Although Buddleia are renowned for being invasive by self-seeding freely, this is not the case with 'High Five Purple' because it produces very little seed, and what seeds do appear won't usually germinate, so no more picking out seedlings from your flower borders!
