A great choice for a splash of lemon yellow in a sunny spring border, Geum 'Banana Daiquiri' has an enchanting little flower with a swirl of yellow anthers surrounded by the most delicate lemon yellow petals, each one lined with almost-transparent veins. The flower grows on a tall fuzzy stem above the neat clump of semi-evergreen leaves. This little Avens looks good at the front of the border and makes a nice cut flower in a spring arrangement. A lovely new variety, Geum 'Cosmopolitan' has a very pretty flower with ruffles of creamy-apricot petals veined with fine rose-pink lines and tinged with deeper pink at the tips. The petals surround a deep yellow centre and the flowers are held on tall stems above a clump of semi-evergreen foliage. The sweet nectar of this Avens is loved by bees and other pollinating insects. Planted in full sun, this is a good choice for the front of the border. Height: 60cm (24). Spread: 45cm (18).
