Japanese Tree Paeonies really are on of the most majestic garden plants you can grow when inb full Summer flower - their huge papery flowers covering the tree. Yet depsite their fine foliage and paper-thin flowers, they are very robust and very hardy, and suprisingy easy to grow - although patience helps too, as they can be slow to really get going for a year or two after initial planting. Echinacea, also known as the Coneflower, are hardy perennials that flower at the height of summer and continue until the first autumn frosts. The name refers to the cone-shaped centre of the large, brightly coloured flowers. Not only are they beautifully, they're also one of the best plants you can grow for attracting all manner of wildlife into your garden. One of the most opulent and striking of the autumn-flowering bulbs, Colchicums are best known for their spectacular goblet-shaped, lilac-pink flowers in September and October. Colchicum flowers emerge first from their summer dormancy, earning the name 'Naked Ladies', followed by large, strappy leaves that are retained until mid-summer. Triumph tulips are a cross between two exceptional and successful varieties, Single Early and Darwin. The result is a range of outstanding, robust tulips in a range of fabulous colours. Large, cup shaped single flowers in bright red and pure white stand out impressively above the upright, grey-green foliage of tulip 'Triumph Red and White'. They look spectacular planted together or dotted through borders for cheerful splash of spring colour. A very old variety of rose, Rosa gallica 'Versicolor'(or Rosa mundi, the French Rose), is a compact, bushy rose with matt, mid-green leaves and highly fragrant blooms, produced in small clusters from early summer.
