Your own juicy cranberries! These plants are specially bred for yielding fruit with a sweet flavour and well-being benefits. They are very hardy and have attractive trailing evergreen foliage.
Imagine growing your own Cranberries for the Christmas spread, well it's much easier than you think. They are tough, rugged little berries, that like naturally acidic soils - think scrubby moorland, so if you give them this, they are easy. This means most people need to grow them in pots, in acidic (ericaceous) compost, and you will be fine. They are quite a trailing plant, so choose a tall pot, or even a hanging basket, so the ripening red fruits can cascade down the sides. Evergreen with small pinky red flowers in late Spring, the red fruits will be produced each Autumn. Pick fresh and enjoy in smootheis or juiced, or make jelly from them then. Should crop in first season reliably too, and for many years after.
