Power Daisy Collection
  • £19.99

More than just a new variety Power Daisies are a completely new garden plant bred from old fashioned pot marigolds yet are worlds apart from their fussy forbears. Once planted they branch freely forming neat bushy spreading plants with bright glossy foliage about 30cm tall. Double daisy blooms appear in May and just keep on coming - often right up to the end of the year a full six months after the flowering starts. Unlike regular Calendulas plants set no seeds and are mildew free, they're easy to care for and resist the worst of summer weather, they're perfect for large pots and sunny borders. So perfect is the Power Daisy series that 'Tango' was shortlisted for the 2018 RHS Plant of the Year Competition - so you know that it's a garden-worthy plant. Supplied as 12 jumbo plugs, 6 each of yellow and Tango orange, ready to grow on before planting out.

Nothing beats the Shasta daisy for sheer flower power in the summer garden, and in fact no sunny border is complete without their bright, cheery presence. Planted in a sunny spot or even a slightly shaded position, it will flower its socks off during the height of summer and they're a favourite with butterflies and bees. Leucanthemum 'Silberprinzessche' (also known as Chrysanthemum maximum) is one of the more popular varieties of the Shasta daisy, with a large, snowy white blooms, each punctuated with a soft central yellow eye and surrounded by luxurious dark green leaves. Growing to just 40-60cm or so, they're less likely to need staking and their compact nature makes them perfect for a large container that can be given pride of place on your patio, decking or balcony. If you do have space available, then these daisies are Ideal planted in well drained, moist soil in a border where they can be made into a focal plant by creating deep drifts of white. The gorgeous blooms of this clump-forming perennial fan out on top of stout stems and can be enjoyed in the garden or brought indoors as a cut flower. Shasta daisies are easy to grow and a doddle to look after - just give them a quick tidy up in the autumn and remove any faded flowers to extend blooming.
