Also known as the steeple bush, this is a vigorous shrub with soft, felt-like leaves and masses of fluffy pink flowers. Easy to grow and definitely a plant that can take a lot of neglect, the steeple bush is a plant that can be grown by virtually anyone! Although it's sometimes called a Phlox paniculata or Perennial Phlox, a Phlox 'Admiral' by any other name will smell as sweet! This plant's white trusses give off a delightful fragrance, which is particularly noticeable when it's planted at the front of borders or near a patio. From here, the scent can be enjoyed in comfort throughout July, August and September. The hardy perennial is particularly suited to sunny or partially shady cottage gardens, but also makes an excellent cut flower. The blooms can even be used in the kitchen, for their spicy taste adds an interesting flavour to fruit salads and makes an unusual, decorative cake topping. Height: 15cm (6).
Easy-to-grow annual with a gentle fragrance. Low-growing and spreading plant with pretty bicoloured blooms all summer long. Ideal at the front of borders. Height: 15cm (6). Spread: 20cm (8).
