Lagerstroemia indica, or Crepe Myrtles are spectacular deciduous flowering shrubs often seen on the continent. These sun loving beauties can also be grown in the UK, looking wonderfully exotic when in full flower. Some Crepe Myrtles can grow to 8m (25ft) tall, but 'Eveline' is much more compact and is unlikely to grow far beyond 2m (6½ft), the perfect size for a garden border or a large pot, making an incredibly impressive specimen. If you admire the Bougainvillea seen all over the Mediterranean and want something similar that will grow at home, then Crepe Myrtle is ideal.
