Green Fig - Ficus carica
  • £19.99

Picking plump, juicy figs straight from a tree is one of those pleasures that really has to be experienced - especially when you then serve them up with wafer thin slices of Parma ham and a drizzle of honey. Divine! This fig tree is a variety of green fig - Ficus carica - grown commercially by Iberian growers for its masses of large, pear-shaped fruit with deep red flesh that are ready for picking in late summer and early autumn. This is a variety seldom offered for sale in the UK, so you can be one of the first to own this fantastic quality fig tree. Fortunately, even before the fruit is ripe, your tree will add presence to your garden as its branches are clothed with large, deeply lobed leaves. Despite originating from a warmer climate, this amazing fig is incredibly tough, easily shrugging off temperatures down to -15C in the UK. Extremely drought tolerant when established, figs do best in a brightly lit, sunny spot. Keep plants productive and compact by restricting roots by growing in large pots or planting in 60cm square planting holes fill the base with a layer of gravel and line sides with paving slabs. Plants are supplied as a 1-1.2m tall whip in a 3L pot.

Rubber Plant Indoor Ficus Elastica Robusta 17cm Pot
  • £16.99

This iconic rubber plant is making a well-deserved comeback in living rooms across the country! Enjoy a piece of 70's kitsch in your own home with this marvellous indoor plant. For years a staple houseplant, no home was complete without its large, glossy leaves and considerable ornamental growing habit. An easy to grow, tropical plant, Robusta gets its name from its sturdy leaves and is much bigger than the old-fashioned plants that used to grace conservatories and parlours. Recognised as a great plant to clean the air in your home, a NASA study revealed that the Rubber Plant will help remove benzene, giving you a cleaner atmosphere in your home. Supplied as a 60cm tall plant in a 17cm pot, with an expected height of approximately 2.5m height after 10 years. Please note that the decorative pot is not included.Care GuideGrow your rubber plant in a sunny position out of direct sunlight - a bright east facing windowsill is ideal. Only water when the top of the compost is dry and allow to dry out between waterings as plants dislike soggy roots. A native of India, the rubber plant likes a bit of humidity, so avoid radiators and you can increase humidity by misting the leaves daily or standing in a gravel tray. Plants are frost tender so keep indoors at all times and keep temperatures above 12C and avoid draughts. Leaves can be cleaned with a wet sponge if necessary, although plants do benefit from a dousing in the rain during the summer. Repot in May or June if the roots are pot-bound. If your plant gets too tall, you can prune out the growing tip and the tree will develop side branches. This product is offered for sale for home delivery exclusively via our website only. Ficus Microcarpa Ginseng Indoor Plant 14cm Pot

Supplied as a potted plant in a 14cm nursery pot. Please note that the decorative pot is not included.Care GuideFicus Ginseng thrives indoors in good light and appreciates being kept outdoors during spring and summer. If outside, protect your bonsai from the midday sun, and when temperatures drop below 54F (12C) bring it indoors and place it on or near a windowsill. Never neglect watering; allow the compost to dry between waterings, but not completely. If you accidentally let your tree’s soil dry out, immerse the container in a bucket of water for an hour to properly soak it, before draining well. In the winter, you'll need to water less. It is normal for a Ficus tree to lose some leaves, but if it’s dropping more than a few, then under or over watering may be the problem. Ficus may also lose leaves if not getting enough light - simply move your plant into a sunnier spot. Also, acclimatisation after moving may have an effect - this is normal, especially if your plant has summered outdoors as it’s simply getting used to a new position. This product is offered for sale for home delivery exclusively via our website only.
