Helianthus 'Sunbelievable (TM)' is just that - a plant with truly unbelievable flower power! The first ever-blooming annual sunflower, it certainly packs a punch with hundreds of gloriously golden sunflowers each with a mahogany centre 'eye'. You'll be amazed how it just blooms and blooms and blooms - from early summer right up until the first frosts. A multiple-branching sunflower, the large, golden-yellow flowers are 8-10cm (3-4in) across and are held above richly coloured foliage that deepens in hue over time, really setting the garden aflame with dazzling tones and sizzling exuberance. Supplied as a large plant in a 3L pot - the largest size currently available - in bud and ready to be planted up, this is a superb value-for-money plant - we've joked that if a plant was on steroids, this would be the result! 'Sunbelievable (TM)' is perfect for growing in containers or in flower borders, where this new introduction produces an abundance of pollen-free flowers on multi-branched stems, so you'll have more than enough to bring into your home! As well as many international awards, Helianthus 'Sunbelievable (TM)' picked up third place finalist in the prestigious 2018 RHS Chelsea Flower Show Plant of the Year Competition, proving that it has what it takes to make a garden winner. With a long flowering season - non-stop from May until the first frosts - it's reliable, robust and easy to grow, so is ideal for first-time gardeners and seasoned veterans alike! With the promise of over 1,000 blooms in a year, one of our growers at the nursery said he gave up counting at 1,000 in July...so we know first-hand that it has the potential for truly unbelievable garden performance all summer long. And the secret to the success of this amazing plant? Well that's down to its inability to set seed - a good thing if you don't want to be constantly weeding out unwanted seedlings - but also it means that all of the plant's energy goes into flower production - win-win if you ask us! Growing to a height and spread of 60cm (2ft), 'Sunbelievable' will behave itself and not seed everywhere which makes it a perfect low maintenance plant for any gardener.

True to its name, this giant among sunflowers is one of the tallest you can grow, with huge, long-lasting daisy-shaped blooms measuring up to 60cm (24in) across and reaching a height of up to 360cm (144in). Having the best record-breaking potential, this heirloom variety is the obvious choice for nurturing children's interest in gardening as well as for indulging your competitive streak - even if just to impress the neighbours as the enormous flowers stand tall well above fence height! Originating in North and South America, sunflowers were worshipped by the ancient Incas as a symbol of their sun god. They reached Europe by the sixteenth century, since when they have been grown in abundance by generations of gardeners and commercial growers for their impressive proportions as well as their highly nutritious seeds and oil. Capable of bringing a touch of sunshine to your garden even when days are dull, they are brimming with optimism and the joys of summer. With enormous dark hearts fringed by glorious bright yellow petals, the flowers soak up the sun and redistribute its goodness in the form of large seeds, which you can roast and eat as a snack, scatter over salads or use in your baking - but don't forget to save some for the birds! When the flowers have reached their peak, hang them up to dry naturally and they will provide a welcome autumn and winter buffet for our feathered friends. However tall they grow, the sturdy, slightly prickly upright stems shouldn't need staking, even in exposed positions, although for peace of mind you may want to provide some support, particularly if you are growing for a competition. The immature flowerheads will follow the sun through the day but once the petals have opened, the flowers will remain facing one direction Supplied as a packet of 25 (approx.) seeds ready to sow indoors or outdoors. For best results, sow the seeds outdoors, directly into their flowering position, to allow the roots to establish firmly with uninterrupted growth. Choose a sunny, sheltered spot with well-draining soil. If necessary, add plenty of well-rotted manure or compost to the ground before planting. Sow from March to May either indoors for planting out in June to July, or outdoors directly into their growing position. Recent Lily breeding has created some huge and beautifully fragrant Oriental type Lilies, in their pinks and whites, their brighter, bolder and brighter Asiatic cousins seem to have been left out. Not any more following their breeding with the ever-popualr Longilforum scented lilies, to create Longiflorum Asiatic (LA) hybrids. With their beautiful sunshine rays of colours in a range of bold 'fruit-salad shades' in yellow, berry pink, orange and red, these vibrant and hot tropical colours really light up your hot summer garden, and they even inherit some of the fragrance of their parents too. Short and strong enough to grow in pots, yet tall enough to cut armfuls of flowers each summer, they are versatile, and very hardy and easy. Plant en masse in large pots or in groups for maximum impact, or maybe just dot them round your garden to brighten up odd spots. Plant in spring, and pick in summer - and again year after year. Great value and easy to do Lilies.
