We are delighted to offer you the chance to grow the Nation's favourite fruit trees in your garden, on a balcony, terrace or patio. Thanks to recent breeding breakthroughs, we can now bring you plums and cherries on compact plants so that everyone can have a go at growing them!Grown on dwarfing rootstocks, Plum 'Victoria' and Cherry 'Athos' will both produce a heavy crop of fruits in the summer - all at a height that's convenient for you.Easy to grow and very productive, you can be assured a great crop of tasty fruits as both are self-pollinating - so even the newest of gardeners will get success! Cherry AthosThe delicious fruits are super sweet and have an old fashioned mouth-watering aromatic flavour - each totally winter hardy bush will produce up to 5kg (approx. 12lb) of fruit per year once fully established.Because it grows in a naturally dwarf BUSH habit and on its own roots, (rather than as a tall grafted tree) you can pick your heavy crop of tasty cherries from each branch, easily and from the safety ground level every summer ... from early July here in the UK - no 'Cherry Pickers' required!Athos is perfect for any garden and is even suitable to grow in a large pot - it could even be grown as the ultimate productive hedge! Plum 'Little Vic'Clever fruit tree grower Will Sibley has teamed the ever-popular best-selling 'Victoria' with a very dwarfing and compact new VVA1 rootstock, which removes most of the vigour that can sometimes be the downfall of Plums. It's like someone has shrunk the tree yet kept the fruit the same - just as big and juicy as the normal variety. It still produces lovely pure white spring blossom displays, and is self-fertile, so no other plums needed for fruit - just the bees that need to do their thing!Perfect in large patio pots (minimum 30cm diameter) for 5 years or so, it produces big, juicy crops of classic red Victoria plums, yet stays small, manageable and perfect for everyone.
A decorative shrub that can be grown outside, the pawpaw is a garden-worthy plant that will give a long season of interest. The show begins in spring, when the deep burgundy-purple, cup-shaped flowers burst from their buds in May. With an unusual form, they consist of 6 petals - 3 outer and 3 inner - giving a delightful show that always gets attention. These are followed in hot summers by oval, edible fruits that colour up from yellow to a rich ochre - think of the colour of a ripe banana. The long lime-green leaves then dominate the show, gradually turning golden-yellow before falling in the autumn. Tasting like a cross between a banana and a mango, pawpaw is said to have a sweet custard-like flavour which makes them a great delicacy - however, you're unlikely to see them commercially grown as plants can be male, female or hermaphroditic. Although they have both male and female reproduction parts, they are not self-pollinating and need pollination from another unrelated pawpaw tree. Hardy to -10°C, the Pawpaw benefits from a warm position in the garden such as a sheltered, south-facing wall where it is best grown as an ornamental multi-stemmed shrub. While plants can reach up to 8m in their native US, they're more likely to attain a modest 4m here in the UK. Supplied as an established plant in a 3L pot ready for immediate planting.

If in doubt, err towards spring but remember to keep pots well-watered so that the soil does not dry out.Care GuidePlanting Advice for your Asimina triloba Pawpaw tree:- Grow Paw Paw in a sunny, sheltered site in well-drained, preferable acid soil. Protect from frost and winds.- Paw paw trees need well-draining soil that is high in organic matter so if your soil is heavy, then you can improve drainage by adding sand or grit.- Dig a planting hole 3 x wider than the roots of the shrub you're planting and mix some well-rotted compost or manure with the soil from the hole and use this to re-fill once the shrub is in place.- We've found that a square hole is better than a round one as the new roots, once they reach the edges tend to grow in a circle round the circumference of the hole whereas when they reach the corners of a square hole, they find it easier to grow through.- Before planting soak container-grown shrubs thoroughly and allow to drain.- Remove the plant from its pot and tease out a few of the roots.- Add Mycorrhizal fungi to the roots when planting to help plants establish quicker.- Place your shrub in the hole at the same level at the pot.- Refill the hole with the earth removed (backfilling).- Firm in the soil with your heel, avoiding the root ball and water well.- Mulch around the base of the plant with a collar, compost, gravel, bark etc.Aftercare advice for Asimina triloba:- The paw paw tree likes to be kept in continuously moist soil.- Keep plants well-watered while they establish.- Hardy to -10°C, protect from cold winds as it is these that tend to cause the most damage to young plants.Pruning Advice for Pawpaw:- Pawpaws require no special pruning; only occasional maintenance is needed to remove any growth that has been damaged over winter.Planting Time:February - NovemberFlowering Time:May - JuneFruiting Time:SeptemberAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire. One of the best-sellers from world-leading Dwarf fruit tree breeder Zaiger, Peach Amber is a really special tree for your garden. Starting with a beautiful display of rose-pink blossom in Spring, it is self-fertile so will produce crops of sumptuous juicy peaches, with a deep golden amber flesh (hence it's name), and lovely red skins. Amazingly sweet in taste, it really is Perfection in Peaches, and performs really well in the UK. As with all peaches here, best results can be obtained by helping pollinate the tree by using a simple soft artist's paintbrush, and rubbing it from flower to flower when it in blossom. They blossom early, and there aren't always enough bees on the move at that time of year. Keep foliage dry in Spring to avoid Peach leaf Curl - under a canopy is fine. You will be rewarded with amazing crops of juicy, amber-fleshed peaches - they just taste sublime picked warm form the sun on their backs, straight form the tree.

Never has there been a better time to Grow Your Own and reap the benefits of producing your own fresh, healthy food. Making use of home gardens has always been a sensible thing to do, but now more than ever with genetic modification, predicted supermarket shortages and environmental damage, produce picked and eaten from your own plot has never been a better idea! Identified in a Belgian fruit farm as being a dwarfing sport, 'Little Conference' was discarded by the commercial growers because it was too dwarfing for their use. However, it throws normal size fruits and by grafting onto medium vigour stock we have ensured that it stays robust. 'Conference' Pear produces a large crop of fruits with clear white flesh that are ready to pick each September. The long, tapering fruits are packed with an irresistible sweetness and lip-smacking juice that will drip from your chin when you bite in to a ripe one! Because of its outstanding flavour, it remains the most popular pear grown in Britain by a long measure and this patio pear is a really good variety and dead easy for any gardener who is staring out in growing Patio Fruit. 'Conference' is largely 'self-fertile' and will be supplied on a dwarfing rootstock. Expected height at 5 years 1.5m. Supplied as an established tree in a 4.5L pot, ready to plant out.
