Please see description below for full product details.Used for centuries as classic garden hedges, often in formal gardens, but equally at home in small gardens and containers. It is perfect for edges, borders and small boundaries. Trees and hedging plants are a great way to create natural borders and screens in your garden. They can blend in with the garden and provide a little bit of privacy as well. Supplied as a pack of 10 plants in 9cm pots, these established plants are 3 years old and trimmed several times to give really bushy plants make growing a box hedge easy. Top Tips- Do not allow young plants to dry out. Check regularly and water to keep the soil moist.Care GuidePlanting Advice for your Box plants:- Plant box in autumn or spring in fertile, well-drained soil and keep it watered, especially if grown in full sun.- Pot-grown plants can be planted any time of year as long as the ground is not wet or waterlogged.- Box will tolerate shade so is great for growing underneath trees and makes superb border edging.- Suitable for growing in a wide range of containers, why not try your hand at a range of topiary styles and shapes - it's great as a way to get kids involved with gardening and isn't just reserved for grand estates!Aftercare Advice for Buxus:- Besides keeping plants well-watered, box appreciates a light top dressing with a slow release, general purpose fertiliser such as fish blood & bone in early spring, taking care to avoid the leaves. Pruning Advice for Box:- Pruning box is simple. Box is best clipped in July and August - any earlier and you risk damage from late frosts which can damage soft new growth while any later means that the new shoots are not hardened sufficiently for the following winter.- Old, scruffy plants can be clipped to 15-30cm of the ground (6-12in) to rejuvenate them.- The small leaf size of Buxus means that you can achieve a whole range of topiary shapes and styles with the minimum of experience - box is remarkably resilient.Planting Time:All yearAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire. Lavender Hidcote - 10x Hedging Plants
  • £24.99

This product is offered for sale for home delivery exclusively via our website only. The images represent established plants, the supplied product may be younger. All heights listed are approximate and fully established plant heights may vary. The amount of foliage, buds or bloom on the plant will depend on what part of the season the product is purchased. Please see description below for full product details. The Classic hardy English Lavender for hedging, these fabulous multi-trimmed plants are the ideal start point combining value with performance. Big enough to plant out all year, and will flower in first season too, yet great value. Plant about 25cm (10in) apart for a dense continuous Lavender hedge which will fill out in 2 seasons, for that iconic look along pathways, driveways or lawn edges. Also great with several in large pots too. The flowers are great for cutting and drying too in Summer, and are a mecca for bees.Top Tips- In late summer, clip the plants back lightly after the flowers have faded. Cut the stems back by a few inches, but not so far that the stems are bare of live foliage, and plants will then have time to produce new shoots before winter dormancy.Care Guide- This drought-tolerant plant thrives in a sunny border, container, herb or gravel gardens.- Best planted between April and May when the soil is warming up, lavender thrives in most free-draining soils in full sun. Heavier soils should have some grit added to improve drainage and to open them up.- Space plants 90cm (3ft) apart, or if growing a hedge, 30cm (1ft) apart or, 45cm (18in) for larger cultivars.- Lavender can be grown in large pots, 30-40cm (1ft-16in) diameter, using a multipurpose or loam-based compost such as JI No 3, with some extra coarse grit, (up to 30%), to improve drainage, along with some controlled release fertiliser granules.- Ensure that the compost is regularly watered in summer, although for improved cold tolerance, kept on the dry side during winter by standing in a cold greenhouse or in the rain shadow of walls.Planting Time:March - AugustFlowering Time:June - SeptemberAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire.
