The popular cut flower and houseplant Gerbera has been upgraded to a garden perennial, giving an amazing 5 months of colour from spring to autumn every year. The world's first Hardy Gerbera in a range of bright, zingy colours, the 'Garvinea Series' was launched to great acclaim across Europe, where the Dutch breeders developed an improved plant with much bigger flowers, and even longer lasting performance. Winter hardy to around -8C (although avoid severe winter wet), and flowering for several seasons of colour, the highly distinctive flowers of Garvinea simply keep coming - up to 50 on a 2-year-old plant. Easy to grow and keep, they're also highly resistant to pests and diseases, making them the ideal garden plant! We love them potted up in bright & bold planters - in a mix of 4 zingy, starburst colours (Opal Fruits if you are a certain age!) you can mix and match your plants to your planters and create an eye-catching display for your patio! Suppled as 4 x mixed colour plants in 7cm pots ready for potting on or planting out when all risk of frost has passed, Garvineas are herbaceous, so die back completely underground over winter, to emerge bigger and better next year.

H40-45cm (16-18in) W80-100cm (31-39in).Please note that we reserve the right to substitute varieties, depending on seasonal availability.Top Tips- For best effect, plant where your hostas receive full sun for at least half of the day, but protect from midday sun. This will encourage the best leaf colour.Care Guide- Before planting, incorporate plenty of organic matter into the soil. Hostas prefer a rich, moisture retentive soil.- Individually knock out each plant from its container. Look at the roots if they are circling around the compost, it is best to tease them out. To do this, push your fingers into the root ball along the bottom edge and pull. Do this in a couple of places. This should encourage the roots to spread into the surrounding soil.- Next use a trowel or spade to create a hole just deep and wide enough to set in the football.- The aim is to bury just the roots, leaving the bases of the stems (when in growth in summer) or the shoots (in spring) above ground.- Firm back around the soil, using your hand for small clumps and your heel on larger areas.- Keep plants well-watered and mulched with well-rotted organic matter.- Hostas can be grown in any container in a good, multi-purpose compost. Ensure that they are kept well-watered. Pot-grown hostas should be fed monthly with a general-purpose liquid feed.- Protect from slugs and snails.- If you find that your hosta is suffering from scorched leaves, move it to a shadier, more sheltered position.Planting Time:All yearFlowering Time:June - JulyAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire. This specially selected trio of ferns are really special though - they are both hardy, and evergreen, so stand out as some of the best to grow, as most die back underground each winter. They will reward you with year-round foliage interest, and are perfect together as a small fernery in the border or in a large pot, or in mixed planters, or cool, deep, moist soils. Orchids are one of the most popular plants in the UK and when you see their exotic blooms, it's easy to see why. The ones that we are used to seeing are houseplants and need to be grown inside - however there is a hardy orchid that you can grow in your own garden! Bletilla, or the Hyacinth Orchid, is one of the hardiest and easiest to grow garden orchids in the UK, slowly forming clumps which produce their gorgeously detailed violet-pink flowers in early summer. When grown in light, dappled shade, bletilla is quite unfussy so it can be grown in the ground under trees, in lawns, or even in patio pots (in shade). B. striata forms a clump of attractive, ribbed, sword-shaped leaves, with erect stems bearing many violet, fragrant, orchid-shaped flowers in spring and early summer. Blooms can reach up to 5cm wide, and each has a ruffled lip in a slightly darker shade, making them a stunning addition to your garden. Although hardy to -10, we recommend growing them in a container where they can be moved to a conservatory or unheated greenhouse during winter, and in mild areas a generous layer of dry mulch should be applied in autumn to provide protection for the corms. Alternatively, lift the corms in autumn and store it in a dry, frost-free place. One thing you need to remember is that bletilla should be kept dry during their winter dormancy, as they will not survive cold, wet soil. An easy to grow plant, which if left undisturbed, will naturalise and spread out to form good-sized clumps. Supplied as 3 x established plants in 9cm pots, ready for potting on or planting out when the soil warms, plants can reach 50cm high and 50cm wide. NB - Plants are dormant October to March so there may be no leaves on your plant when delivered.
