Box hedging has been the staple plant for formal garden hedges across the UK for many hundreds of years. But lately, the emergence of box blight (a disease causing dieback), and box tree caterpillar (Cydalima perspectalis) has led to the search for more robust alternatives for some parts of the UK where these have become a problem. Fortunately, along comes Ilex crenata, and more particularly the selection 'Green Hedge'. Despite its common name of Japanese Holly, the leaves are not prickly, and are small and round, very closely resembling Buxus (Box) - almost identical in fact - although probably a darker green if anything. It is equally easy to trim and thrives on a regular pruning as a hedge, yet is more robust and a little more vigorous in growth. For quickest establishment of dwarf hedges plant this size out all year round at 20cm (8in) spacing. Use in the same situations as you would box - smaller low hedges to separate areas, acts as borders, lining paths etc. However, is also vigorous enough to produce larger topiary too if allowed to grow to its full size. Supplied as a trimmed plant in a 9cm pot. Contact us for prices on larger volumes.

This hedgehog food has been specifically created to offer extra food to hedgehogs in the garden during these periods. Thanks to the varied composition of natural ingredients, hedgehogs will get all the nutrients they need to stay healthy. Don't forget to not feed hedgehogs milk or bread, as it is really bad for them and always put a water dish near the food. Comes in a resealable upright standing package. Make your garden more hedgehog friendly with this super cute gate. Hedgehogs can travel up to one mile every night in their quest to find enough food and a mate. If you have an enclosed garden you might be getting in the way of their plans. Why not get together with neighbours to create an opening in your fence to connect your gardens and let the hedgehogs easily roam free. To use, simply make a suitable opening in your fence, 12cm gap is sufficient, then just screw the metal hedgehog gate on with screws or cable ties. Ideal for use on both wooden and metal fences and gates. #html-body [data-pb-style="60599B21225B2"]{justify-content: flex-start; display: flex; flex-direction: column; background-position: left top; background-size: cover; background-repeat: no-repeat; background-attachment: scroll; border-style: none; border-width: 1px; border-radius: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 10px; padding: 10px;}#html-body [data-pb-style="60599B21225C2"]{border-style: none; border-width: 1px; border-radius: 0px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;}
