A magnificent Dutch Iris, 'Lion King' actually describes the stunning colour of its flowers rather well. The large and extravagant two-tone blooms have falls, which are the lower petals, in golden yellow with burgundy stripes and standards, or upper petals, in copper with a flush of pink. Unlike other varieties of Iris that grow from rhizomes, Dutch Iris grow from bulbs and are superb in pots or borders where they will naturalise to increase your stock of these beautiful plants. The long, strappy grey-green leaves and incredibly strong flower stems look fantastic planted in groups, and they are excellent cut flowers too.
