Marginal plants are perfect for the borders of your pond where the water is most shallow, or perhaps on a planting shelf. They are able to tolerate waterlogged soil but should be planted no deeper than four inches below the water level. These hardy aquatic plants can be grown outside of the water also, as long as their soil is kept consistently moist. Benefits: Dark green grass-like pendulous foliage with brown flowers. This plant makes good cover for wildlife in large ponds or lakes.
