Making a welcome return to UK gardens, 'The Fairy' is a variety of Polyantha rose, a small, vigorous rambler with a low-growing habit which is invaluable as groundcover and perfect for filling patio pots with colour. A great successor to the popular flower carpet roses, what these roses lack in fragrance, they certainly make up for in looks and performance, producing wave after wave of perfectly formed rose flowers in large, closely packed bunches. These contrast magnificently against the glossy green leaves, which really highlight the colours, making the blooms 'pop'. As well as their gorgeous looks, 'The Fairy' series of polyantha roses are also extremely hardy with good disease resistance, forming neat, compact bushes which makes them ideal for growing in patio pots and the front of flower borders. Awarded the much sought-after RHS Award of Garden Merit, you can be sure that these plants have been assessed and declared perfect garden plants. Flowering continuously from June until the first frosts, these delicate little roses are extremely versatile and very low maintenance, which makes them the perfect addition to your garden where they can be left to get on and do what they do best! Rosa 'The Fairy Yellow' has a cheery yellow flower which blushes apricot-pink as they age. Forming a well-branched plant with typical glossy, dark green leaves, Fairy Yellow is undemanding and flowers well into the autumn. Growing to just 40 - 60cm (2 - 3ft) we send a professional quality plant in a 1.5L pot ready to plant now.
'Sylvia Denny' is a beautiful large flowered deciduous climber that will not fail to impress. Made up of double, semi-double and single blooms, this is a clematis that will certainly provide an impressive display throughout the summer months. This clematis blooms all the way along its stems, resulting in a proliferation of large, pure white flowers from the ground upwards, starting in May and June, and then once again during late August and September. The second flowering consists of smaller single blooms. This climber is a beautiful feature for fences, trellises, and arches and is especially effective in containers. 'Sylvia Denny' will thrive in a sunny spot, where it can be trained up trellis for a vertical wall effect or allow to naturally wind its way through beds and borders. Easy to maintain, you just trim the stems back to 15cm (6in) in February or March. Supplied as an established plant in a 9cm pot, ready for planting.
The exotic looking multi-layered flowers of the Passiflora is a perfect choice for any garden because of their ease of growing and toughness and resilience- these are hardy once established, but in colder areas grow against a South facing wall or in large pots. Introducing your next favourite plant - the fabulously fragrant-flowered foxglove tree, Paulownia fortunei Fast Blue (R) 'Minfast' The foxglove tree is one of those plants that always draws gasps of amazement when in full flower, it really is a sight to behold in bloom. It's a tree that we're always getting asked if we stock, so we tracked down this garden gem and this is your opportunity to get one of these sought-after beauties for your own garden. 'Fast Blue' grows rapidly (up to 1m (3ft) in a year) and will flower reliably, sometimes in the following year after planting. One of the bluest of the foxglove trees and bred especially for its colour, the flowers are widely funnel-shaped, foxglove-like, very fragrant, deep violet purple outside and almost creamy white inside with yellow throat. Held on erect stems just like our native foxgloves. Flowers have a strong vanilla fragrance and are produced profusely in May and the panicles of trumpet-shaped velvety blooms are a reliable nectar source - a magnet for pollinating insects - giving rise to its other name of the Honey Plant. Slightly more compact and less vigorous than the more readily available Paulownia 'tomentosa', this is a tree more suited to our gardens, and has been given the RHS Award of Garden Merit, so you can be sure that it will perform! Plants are also notable for their large, heart-shaped, mid green, deciduous leaves (up to 20cm across), which are very hairy underneath and a feature in their own right after the flowers have faded, continuing to give you garden interest throughout the seasons. Easy to grow in a warm, sunny position, sheltered from strong winds in order to protect flower buds that need to overwinter and also to prevent emerging leaves from damage. Paulownia excels as a specimen tree and is fully hardy down to -25C. When planting, select an appropriate spot with enough space to allow your plants to grow. If you wish to grow Paulownia for the large leaves, then pollarding the tree will produce better growth, although at the expense of flowers. Supplied as an established tree in a 1L pot, ready for planting out.
