Plant a kaleidoscope of colours with this spectacular mix of double-flowered tulips. Also known as 'Peony tulips' for the close resemblance that the sweetly scented, blousy blooms bear to that early summer favourite, they are perfect for beds, borders, and containers, where they will be the star of any spring-flowering show. In a mix of colours ranging from creamy white to glorious pastel pinks and pinky reds, these multi-petalled blooms will fill the air with delightful perfume. The large, double-cupped, bowl-shaped blooms will also look fantastic in a vase - so make sure you plant enough for armfuls of cut flowers. An easy-to-grow hardy perennial, they will thrive in fertile, well-drained conditions, enjoying full or afternoon sun. Plant in the autumn for long-lasting, opulent, multi-coloured blooms in April and May. Easy to grow, they are suitable for gardeners of every level of experience. Supplied as a pack of 20 bulbs, they are best planted in groups in borders or pots for a beautiful display.

A fascinating and stunning looking plant, this Pineapple Guava is a native of South America yet is perfectly happy here in the UK. Like a bird of paradise, its flamboyant sorbet-pink and ice-white blooms will create an exotic display from late spring to early summer, bearing sweet nectar that is loved by butterflies and bees. In autumn this stunning plant then yields delicious, tropical-tasting green egg-shaped fruits with succulent flesh - similar to a kiwi but smoother in appearance. Enjoy them fresh or bake into pies and crumbles for a special treat. Bushes are evergreen, giving year-round interest. Hardy down to at least -5°C, when mature they reach a height and spread of 1.8 m (6 ft). They are very easy to grow and are particularly suited to raising in a large pot or planter.
Grow something really different this year and amaze your friends and family with homegrown pineapple guavas. A striking, year-round plant, Feijoa sellowiana 'Mammoth' is an evergreen shrub with attractive, grey-green, furry leaves, and exotic red flowers which are followed by juicy, sweetly aromatic, pineapple-flavoured fruits. Also known as Acca or the Pineapple Guava, the pink and red fluffy flowers appear in May and being self-fertile, produce their crop of edible, red-flushed green fruit without the need for a second tree (although productivity is improved with two). the fruits are roughly egg-shaped and about 3 inches long with a waxy green skin and drop once they are ripe. Alternatively, you can pick them before they ripen and finish them indoors to prevent bruising. Hardy enough to grow in the UK climate, Feijowa is drought tolerant once established and can reach up to 3m (10ft) if left unpruned in a sheltered, sunny corner of the garden. Supplied as an established plant in a 9cm pot, ready to plant up straight away.
