The stunning 'Flamingo Willow', or Salix integra 'Hakuro-nishiki' to give it it's correct botanical name, produces a stunning spring and summer ritual, bursting forth from bare branches, often with catkins on, into a mass of amazing creamy pink variegated and tipped new shoots, set against white mottled and marbled leaves, keeping that lovely contrast all summer. It is really hardy and easy to grow, simply hack it back to shape in late autumn, it is great in large pots as a feature plant, but needs to be grown where you can see it's delicate colours. It's not fussy at all for soil conditions, but do not let it dry out.Care Guide- Grow in full sun is moist, well-drained soil - willows love moisture so you can be sure that they'll be happy with a regular dousing.- Container plants especially should be kept well-watered, however don't let them sit in permanent wet.- Pruning is simply a case of a light trim in spring to reshape the canopy.Planting Time:January - JuneSeptember - NovemberFruiting Time:October - DecemberAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire. Flowering Mimosa Tree

All heights listed are approximate and fully established plant heights may vary. The amount of foliage, buds or bloom on the plant will depend on what part of the season the product is purchased. Please see description below for full product details.Transition the seasons from winter to spring with bold and bright colour year after year! The canary-yellow blooms of the Flowering Mimosa Tree are a spectacular sight from January to April every year. Hundreds of bobbly yellow blooms smother the branches of the Mimosa tree in a lemon haze, almost hiding the stunning grey green filigree foliage that makes this tree a handsome year round feature in the garden. The eye-catching pom-pom blooms not only look a picture but carry a heavenly fragrance and provide a valuable nectar source for friendly insects that emerge in milder weather. Altogether a super tree to own! Widely seen across southern Europe, this variety will thrive outdoors in most of the UK too and is a great plant for conservatories or sunny corners of a room indoors in regions prone to severe frost. It's a great choice for a large container too producing a really unique feature tree.Care GuidePlanting Advice for Mimosa:- Grow mimosa in a sunny, sheltered site in well-drained, neutral to acid soil. Protect from frost and winds.- Best planted in the spring, after all danger of frosts has passed, so that new wood is given the longest possible ripening period before its first winter.- If you garden in an exposed or frost-prone area, then Mimosa is best grown in a large pot where it will make a great conservatory plant and should be watered only occasionally over winter.- Dig a planting hole 3 x wider than the roots of the shrub you're planting and mix some well-rotted compost or manure with the soil from the hole and use this to re-fill once the shrub is in place.- Before planting soak container-grown shrubs thoroughly and allow to drain.- Remove the plant from its pot and tease out a few of the roots.- Add Mycorrhizal fungi to the roots when planting to help plants establish quicker.- Place your shrub in the hole at the same level at the pot and refill the hole with the earth removed (backfilling).- Firm in the soil with your heel, avoiding the root ball and water well.- Mulch around the base of the plant with a collar, compost, gravel, bark etc.- If you're planting into pots, place some old rocks, stones or gravel in the bottom of the pot for drainage and ballast.- Use the best ericaceous compost you can buy and some sand or grit for drainage.Aftercare Advice for Mimosa:- Hardy to -10°C you'll need to provide shelter from the worst of the winter weather as Mimosa does not like the cold.- If damaged by cold weather, it should regrow from the base as a multi-stem, which is ideal if planted in a small garden as it will restrict its growth.- All new growth is more susceptible to damage from cold weather, so provide adequate frost protection for the first two years to help it survive.Pruning Advice for Mimosa:- Pruning is not necessary apart from to remove any branches that are dead or damagedPlanting Time:March - JuneFlowering Time:March - MayAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire. Patio Lavatera Mallow 'Barnsley Baby'

All heights listed are approximate and fully established plant heights may vary. The amount of foliage, buds or bloom on the plant will depend on what part of the season the product is purchased. Please see description below for full product details. The perfect softest powder pink patio shrub, Lavatera 'Barnsley baby' has taken the huge flower power of it's vigorous cousins, and focussed it all on a much smaller and naturally compact form. It is very easy to grow, very tough and robust in rain and shine, and in summer produces lovely candyfloss pink flower displays that smother the plant, as the strings of buds open from bottom to top of each and every stem. Perfect in 20-30cm patio pots, simply keep watered and fed monthly, and cut back once a year before new growth starts - a very low maintenance but high reward plant indeed.Top Tips- Mallows can be slow to show signs of life in early spring, so you'll need a little more patience than normal before it returns to bud - don't worry it's a late riser!Care GuidePlanting Advice for Lavetera 'Barnsley baby':- Grow in full sun in moist, well-drained soil. Alternatively, can be grown successfully in a pot.- Before planting, prepare the soil by digging over and removing any weeds.- Individually knock out each plant from its container. Look at the roots – if they are circling around the compost, it is best to tease them out. To do this, push your fingers into the rootball along the bottom edge and pull. Do this in a couple of places. This should encourage the roots to spread into the surrounding soil.- Next use a trowel or spade to create a hole just deep and wide enough to set in the rootball.- The aim is to bury just the roots, leaving the bases of the stems (when in growth in summer) or the shoots (in spring) above ground.- Firm back around the soil, using your hand for small clumps and your heel on larger areas.- Water in well to settle the soil and prevent desiccation.Aftercare Advice for your Tree Mallow 'Barnsley Baby':- Please note that plants will die back over the winter months, emerging from the soil again in the spring.- Your mallow will need regular water when first planted until established. After that, they fairly maintenance free.- Feed plants regularly during the growing season with a general purpose feed such as our Blooming Fast soluble fertiliser.Pruning Advice for Barnsley Baby:- Pruning lavatera is best undertaken in spring when all risk of frost has passed and new buds are swelling.- Prune all stems back to about 30cm (12in) above ground level.Planting Time:March - OctoberFlowering Time:July - SeptemberAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire.
