Sometimes known as the Cobra Lily, it's not hard to imagine how it got this name, resembling the forked tongue of a Cobra. A fiery, exotic and fabulous looking summer-flowering bulb, not widely known or grown, yet very easy in pots. Not entirely hardy, it will take a degree or two of frost if well-drained, so we suggest growing in pots, with added sand or gravel for drainage. Plant 3 or 4 corms in a 25-30cm diameter pot, as they will spread over 5 years or so, giving bigger and better displays. The best displays are from full sun spots, so feed and water well in warmer months. This relative of Montbretia (Crocosomia) produces lovely, deep-orange flame-like flowers in tall and showy spikes in high summer, developing to seed-pods which add autumn interest. This collection comprises of 5 top sized bulbs, the same as used by commercial flower growers in Holland - gorgeous soft lemon yellow. These incredible Skyscraper Lilies grow so tall they look like trees! In their first year they will reach up to 1.5m (5ft) tall, but in future years, once they are fully established, they will get even taller up to 6 or even 7 foot tall eventually! These large flowered beauties arise as a consequence hybridisation between Oriental and Trumpet strains of lily hence the marriage of both species characteristics. Every flower delivers a wonderful heady perfume and each individual stem can carry well over 20 blooms, which can measure well over 15cm (6in) across. Grow all 5 in large pots about 15cm apart, or in groups in garden borders. They have very strong stems, so should not need support. Cut them for the long-lasting displays in the vase, or leave them to marvel at in your garden. Allow them to die down naturally after flowering, and they will build up reserves for even bigger and better displays the following year. Fully Winter hardy, they will last for many years. Sourced from Somerset farms this this unique fibrous product is produced from poultry waste. A traditional favourite among gardeners, pelleted chicken manure gives outstanding results. A 100% natural fertiliser pellet containing everything you need for growing. Ideal for all flowers, shrubs, vegetables, lawns, outdoor pot plants, trees and roses, this is not an artificial chemical fertiliser, it's poultry droppings in a convenient, easy to use form. Directions for Use Flowers, vegetables and soft fruit: Two or three handfuls (140-210g) per sq.m (4-6oz per sq.yd.) when planting and a good handful as a top dressing when required. Avoid direct, undiluted, contact with tender young plants, scattering pellets about 50-80cm (2-3in) away and work into surface of the soil. Repeat at 2-3-week intervals for heavy feeders such as tomatoes and beans. Roses: Use two or three handfuls to each rosebush when planting, one or two handfuls for established bushes when the buds begin to swell and again before the second flush of blooms. Lawns: Aerate well, scatter approximately a handful per square metre - brush well into the holes to enrich the soil under the turf. Water well. Do not use after applying other high nitrogen feeds - leave an interval of about two weeks.Liquid Feed - Dissolve one or two handfuls of pellets in 4.5 litres (1 gallon) of water to make a first-class liquid feed for all plants. Especially good for grow bag plants such as cucumbers and tomatoes. Tips: 6X can be stored from one season to the next, but if storing for later use, partially used buckets should be closed tightly and stored in a cool place. As with all garden products, sensible precautions should be taken use gloves, wash hands after use, wash vegetables before eating, etc. Store only in the original container and keep tightly closed and in a safe place. Safely dispose of the bucket when empty. It is made of recyclable polypropylene. If you are allergic to chickens or feathers, avoid directly handling 6X Manure or breathing the dust. Some pets like to eat manure and, whilst eating 6X will not normally cause a problem, it should be discouraged particularly in pets with a delicate digestion. Coverage The application rates quoted are for use as a rough guide. For general digging, feeding and soil conditioning, one bucket will treat about 36 sq.m of ground (44 sq.yds). For lawns allow about 110 sq.m (132 sq.yd) per bucket.

These pellets are made from 100% composted cow manure. The nutrients are completely organic and will help to give your soil and open and airy structure and much increased fertility. The pellets contain added nitrogen, phosphate and potassium as well as other trace elements and are excellent for water retention, being about to hold three times their own weight in water. The pellets can be used at any time of year, except when there is a frost. Spread them evenly onto moist ground and when rain is expected. Directions for Use Lawns: 150-200g per m² in April, with further applications in June and August.Borders with mixed shrubs, bulbs and perennials: 150-200g per m² worked into the soil in early April and again in July.Root crops: 125-150g per m² prior to sowing.Green leaf crops: 150-175g per m² prior to planting.Potatoes: 150-200g per m² prior to planting, with a second application in July, worked into the soil.Pots and containers: Work into the compost in early April and again in July, 100g for a 30cm pot, 200g for 60cm and 300g for 90cm.Fruit trees, shrubs and roses: 125-150g per m² worked into the soil in early April and again in July.
