A beautiful, variegated Euonymus, 'Marieke' has wonderfully bright, glossy golden yellow leaves with green centres. The evergreen foliage is at its brightest during new growth throughout spring and summer, making 'Marieke' stand out from surrounding plants, and it's a welcome and colourful sight during winter too. Small yellowy summer flowers are followed by pink or purple berries in autumn. Expertly grown in standard form with a clipped topiary lollipop head, it'll bring height and formality to the garden all year round. Ideal either side of a door or gate or lining a pathway, and it's an interesting alternative to standard box, bay or conifers and has a naturally neat habit, only needing an occasional trim to keep it in shape. Supplied as an established standard bush, 60-70cm tall in a 15cm pot and reaching 1.5m (5ft) in height and 1.2m (4ft) wide, depending on pruning.
This lovely new selection of larger leaved Euonymus has bright gold-edged variegations, creating an evergreen ball of colour atop a straight standard stem. The fabulous golden yellow variegated leaves are brightest in new growth in Spring and Summer, yet remain neat and tidy too. And they are ever-yellow too - they remain bright all year, even in Winter, so offer a real year round feature. Grown on a clear stem of about 50cm, these standard Euonymus are quite unusual, and work really well as a low maintenance feature in pairs either side of a doorway or gate.
