Known for reliable, early delicious crops, this is an established and very popular variety with productive dwarf plants that gives great harvests of blunt-ended, dark green pods of 6-8 sweet and tender peas. Ideal for fresh eating but also well suited for freezing. Early sowings should be protected with cloches. Likewise, younger plants should be protected from birds with twigs or netting and support provided with pea sticks or netting for easier picking, especially in windy locations. Regular picking recommended to obtain abundant yields. Easy to grow and versatile, peas and beans make a delicious and nutritious addition to any meal. Raised by a Scottish T&M customer. We are delighted to introduce such a refreshing break in colour. Each petal is evenly divided by a red and yellow stripe and this produces a thoroughly eye-catching effect. The bushy, uniform plants produce masses of flowers, excellent for bedding and particularly good for cutting, lasting well in water. Occasional all yellow bloom produced through climate stress. The unusual and immensely pretty Mirabilis jalapa opens its gorgeous flowers in mid-afternoon on sunny days in the height of summer - only to close them again at night, hence one of its common names 'The Four O'Clock Plant'. Incredibly, each plant produces its flowers in a mix of colours - from deep-magenta, to pure-white, bicolours, and even bright-yellow - it's no wonder its called the 'Marvel of Peru'! Plant this beauty in beds and borders, and it will form a neat, bushy shrub that will grow to about 1m (3ft) tall. Alternatively, plant them in deep pots, like carrots would grow (you will see what we mean when you get them!)
