Clematis ?Advent Bells? is an exciting cross between C. napaulensis x C. cirrhosa ?Freckles?. This new hybrid combines the best features of both its parents ? an evergreen, winter flowering Clematis with superb vigour and hardiness to -10C (14F).
Although Clematis are best known for being climbing plants, this variety, a Clematis integrifolia hybrid, is content to grow in sunny borders or over steep banks rather than up a trellis. The flowers of Clematis 'Alionushka' are also unusual, forming attractive, bell shapes rather than the usual star pattern.
