Water well.Aftercare advice for your Acer:- Leaf colour is best in partial shade, although full sun can be tolerated as long as the plant is well watered.- Avoid exposed places as leaves can suffer with windburn (scorch), especially if the plant is dry.- Allow your Japanese Maple to get used to a whole day in the sun by starting it off in the shade, then standing it in its final sunny spot (in pot or in the garden soil) for one hour longer every day for a week.- Water regularly and deeply.- Feed with our specialist Acer feed.- Mulch every couple of years with well-rotted garden compost or well-rotted manure or leaf mould.Pruning advice for your Acer Dissectum:- Acers generally do not need pruning, just remove any branches that are dead or damaged.Planting Time:March - OctoberAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire. A relatively new variety of Sedum, the ‘Matrona’ variety is great for planting at borders or in pots. These grow into attractive red stems with olive green leaves that are flushed purple. The densely packed pink flower heads bloom on top of strong straight stems which, unlike many Sedums, need no support. Sedums store water in their foliage for dry periods. In high summer it bears flat-topped flower heads. Each flower bud is white and opens to produce pale pink petals, with many of individual flowers making up each flower head. These produce a stunning effect when planted en masse. They are vigorous hardy growers and one of the best-looking blooms from summer into late winter, providing a rare sight of colour during this period. Sedum ‘Matrona’ is ideal for attracting bees and butterflies in late summer, a vital food source for the midsummer gap. Light and Water Sedums like to grow in an open, sunny spot, ideally in well-drained soil. Water when soil is dry to the touch and water thoroughly, allowing the water to drain through.
The exotic blooms of these showy Clematis make the perfect partnership! A profusion of purple and pistachio blooms, with layer upon layer of petals, create a luxuriant display.
