A beautiful tulip with a pure white flower and deep purple flames running up the outside of the petals. Surprisingly hardy and weather resistant, they're so easy to plant and grow which would explain why they're one of the most popular bulbs. Tulips are great planted with many different colour variations to give a fresh, vibrant spring colour to your garden, patio or decking. Try planting 'Flaming Flag' alongside another purple variety such as 'Queen of the Night' to really set off the white petals, or mix up with 'Washington' for another striking two-tone flower. Iris reticulata Blue is a dwarf, early flowering iris that is a native of mountainous parts of Russia, Turkey and Iran. Narrow, erect foliage gives rise to richly coloured flower stems with vibrant cobalt blue blooms that have a bright golden yellow and white markings along the centre of each petal, giving them an orchid-like look. Appearing in March and April, the flowers are loved by bees and a host of other pollinators that appreciate the early source of nectar, and each one carries a wonderful fragrance. Iris reticulata make a wonderful display when planted together in pots and they also work well in rock and gravel gardens or try them as a gorgeous centrepiece for your patio table. Preferring well drained soil and a sunny location, they will happily naturalise and spread, returning bigger and better every year. The bulbs can be lifted and divided in autumn. Vinca minor, better known as the periwinkle is a wonderful, low growing evergreen perennial with glossy green foliage on long stems that will root where they touch the ground. Between April and September beautiful, five petalled, star shaped flowers appear in shades purple, blue and white scattered across the carpet of foliage. They are wonderful for brightening up dull parts of the garden and provide excellent groundcover, helping to keep weed in check. For something different, try growing periwinkles in hanging baskets so that the stems can trail over the sides. Although they flower best in sunshine, they do very well in partial shade and will even tolerate growing in shadow. Supplied as 12 plug plants, ready to be potted on or planted out into your garden.
