Commonly known as the Wood Anemone, this delicate looking species is tougher than you might expect. Planted in generous groups it will create a carpet of divided, dark-green foliage and dazzling white blooms in spring.
Salvia nemorosa 'Marcus' bears indigo flower spears protruding from mounds of fragrant foliage, creating a solid drift of colour. These compact plants are ideal for the front of cottage garden borders and wildlife gardens, where they will attract bees and butterflies but not unwelcome deer or rabbits.
