This traditional variety has stood the test of time ? and for good reason! Onion 'Borettana' is an Italian heirloom variety often described as Cipollini in Italy. The bulbs have a distinctive, flat, button-like appearance with papery, straw-brown skins and sweet, firm flesh.
Forms a clump of slender elongated bulbs and long green stalks, similar to chives. A type of perennial bunching onion usually grown as an annual, and winter hardy. Quite pungent flavoured, use both the leaves and small bulbs.
