Here is a new twist on a much-loved favourite - 3 separate colours on one. Our clever growers have skilfully matched 3 different coloured plants - one white, one pink and one purple blue - and grown them close together in one pot. As the plant develops, the stems intermingle, creating a most intriguing mixed colour effect which will get the neighbours talking! Retaining their magical attraction to butterflies, you can look forward to peacock and tortoiseshell butterflies aplenty this summer - and for years beyond. Buddleia is one of the most robust and easy-care shrubs to grow requiring almost no maintenance - we suggest a simple hack back to about 30cm each spring before new leaves appear, but hey, if you forget, it will be fine too! Very hardy, and disease free, grow in sunny spots or large pots.Top Tips- Buddleia plants are low maintenance, but they do benefit from pruning in early spring to maintain a nice compact plant.Care Guide- Plant Buddleia in garden borders in any moist, well drained garden soil, in full sun or semi-shade.- Alternatively grow buddleja plants in patio containers using soil-based compost such as John Innes No.3.- Prune Buddleia in March, once the hardest frosts are over, as the new growth begins to show.- Firstly, remove any dead, diseased, damaged, or weak stems, before pruning all off the remaining stems back to form a low framework.- Drought tolerant once established.Planting Time:All yearFlowering Time:July - AugustAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire. Hibiscus are often propagated by grafting, and the clever nurserymen have grafted 3 individual different colours - blue, pink and white - to the top of the standard stem. Usually they would graft 3 of the same colour, but in an experimental moment, created this delightful result. Quite cleverly, all 3 varieties have been selected carefully so they grow at similar rates, and no one colour will dominate the tree. This is a more reliable method than the sometimes offered 3 colours plaited together. All that your Hibiscus will need from you is an annual trim to shape, and they will stay in this lovely mix for years. Hibiscus syriacus is totally hardy in the UK, but thrives best in hot, sunny spots, and responds particularly well to heavy feeding, especially with a feed rich in trace elements. Flowering in August and September, prepare to amaze your friends and neighbours with this horticultural wonder!Top Tips- Feed weekly in spring and summer with a balanced feed with micronutrients.Care Guide- Grow in a sheltered spot in full sun with a humus-rich moist soil, keep well-watered as these plants don't like to dry out.- Happy in a large container as long as you keep it well-watered.- Protect the crown with a dry mulch through the winter months.- Trim any dead or damaged growth each year in mid spring and remove faded flowers. Hibiscus flower on the current season's growth, so pruning encourages them to flower prolifically.- Hibiscus can be bare of leaves right up until May, so don't think that your plant has expired - keep it well watered and it will burst into life when ready!Planting Time:April - JulyFlowering Time:July - SeptemberAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire. Plant your rose where it can get plenty of sun for at least half of the day, and where it will be sheltered from the wind. Add plenty of well-rotted manure into the hole and plant so that the graft union (the swollen are when the stems meet the roots) is just below soil level. Water well every other day - daily if the weather is hot and dry. Established roses can be watered around once a week through spring and summer - more if the weather is hot. For best results, feed roses in in late-March/April and again late July. To prune, just remove any dead, dying, damaged and diseased stems. Traditionally, you would cut just above a leaf joint with a sloping cut away from the bud, however, this isn't necessary, and dont worry about pruning too much - roses are very resilient and will grow back.Planting Time:October - AprilFlowering Time:May - OctoberAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire.
