'Brown Sugar' is a spectacular hardy Japanese Maple with leaves that change colour with the seasons. Young spring foliage emerges fresh and green before changing to a lovely, warm bronzy chocolate colour, then as autumn arrives the leaves transform to fiery red before falling. The stems are as colourful as the leaves too, turning bright red during summer and winter, setting off the foliage beautifully. Compact and slow-growing 'Brown Sugar' is an ideal specimen plant grown in a large pot, and a real eye-catcher on a patio or balcony. Preferring sun or light shade and slightly acidic soil, it's very easy to grow and almost maintenance free, a wonderful addition to your garden, bring almost year-round interest. Supplied as an established plant in a 19cm pot, reaching 2m (6½ft) in height and a spread of 1.5m (5ft).
Introducing your next favourite plant - the fabulously fragrant-flowered foxglove tree, Paulownia fortunei Fast Blue (R) 'Minfast' The foxglove tree is one of those plants that always draws gasps of amazement when in full flower, it really is a sight to behold in bloom. It's a tree that we're always getting asked if we stock, so we tracked down this garden gem and this is your opportunity to get one of these sought-after beauties for your own garden. 'Fast Blue' grows rapidly (up to 1m (3ft) in a year) and will flower reliably, sometimes in the following year after planting. One of the bluest of the foxglove trees and bred especially for its colour, the flowers are widely funnel-shaped, foxglove-like, very fragrant, deep violet purple outside and almost creamy white inside with yellow throat. Held on erect stems just like our native foxgloves. Flowers have a strong vanilla fragrance and are produced profusely in May and the panicles of trumpet-shaped velvety blooms are a reliable nectar source - a magnet for pollinating insects - giving rise to its other name of the Honey Plant. Slightly more compact and less vigorous than the more readily available Paulownia 'tomentosa', this is a tree more suited to our gardens, and has been given the RHS Award of Garden Merit, so you can be sure that it will perform! Plants are also notable for their large, heart-shaped, mid green, deciduous leaves (up to 20cm across), which are very hairy underneath and a feature in their own right after the flowers have faded, continuing to give you garden interest throughout the seasons. Easy to grow in a warm, sunny position, sheltered from strong winds in order to protect flower buds that need to overwinter and also to prevent emerging leaves from damage. Paulownia excels as a specimen tree and is fully hardy down to -25C. When planting, select an appropriate spot with enough space to allow your plants to grow. If you wish to grow Paulownia for the large leaves, then pollarding the tree will produce better growth, although at the expense of flowers. Supplied as an established tree in a 1L pot, ready for planting out.
Make Christmas more fun by growing your own non-needle drop Nordmann Christmas tree from these cute starter plants. This 3 year old tree has been nurtured from seed, trimmed twice already to get that all important shape started, and grown in its pot for a year, so is now bursting to romp away in its new home. Perfect for planting into a larger pot such as a 20-25cm (8-10in) diameter pot for 2 years or so, or popping straight into the garden soil and growing it outside for a few years, you can watch this tree grow year after year. Tough, evergreen, very hardy and easy to grow. Perfect for celebrating a new home, a new member of the family, or just so the children can learn a lot growing fun trees.
Also known as the flax lily, Phormium tenax 'Sundowner' is a robust, fully hardy evergreen which forms a dense clump of sword-like leaves - a really great plant for adding a bit of a statement to your garden. Stunning in a border and stylish in a container, this phormium plant has particularly striking, bronze-green leaves striped with red and pink, and is a compact form - meaning that it won't overshadow everything in your garden plus you can grow it in a pot! Phormiums prefer a hot dry site (although will tolerate partial shade) and make a great candidate for a Mediterranean garden or a gravel garden where their upright leaves make a great foil for many other coloured plants. Fully deserving its coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit, you can be sure that this is a proven garden performer, guaranteed to be suitable for UK gardeners at every level of experience. You can therefore plant this in the garden with confidence, for stunning displays for many years to come. Easy to grow, phormium 'Sundowner' needs virtually no maintenance - it may even reward you with spikes of yellow flowers in late summer. Ultimately growing to around 1.5m, we supply well-established plant in a 3L pot ready for immediate planting.
A great choice for ultra-low maintenance gardening - working well in metallic pots for a modernist look, but equally at home in mixed traditional borders, it's evergreen green (pink) leaves providing a year round backdrop for bolder and brighter seasonal flowers. 'Sundowner' is a great Phormium variety, its tough sword-like leave edged lovely pink, in contrast to a muted olive green. It requires almost no maintenance at all, leave it alone and elt it do it s thing. When it gets to 5 years old you may even get its spectacular flower spikes emerging in late Spring too. This is a big potful, and will give instant impact and enjoyment.

Considered by many to be a gourmet treat, asparagus is grown for its succulent tasty spears that can be harvested for up to eight weeks from mid-spring onwards. Traditionally grown from bare root plants, known as crowns, Pacific is one of the sweetest tasting varieties available. Asparagus will thrive if planted in a sunny, well-drained spot and will reward you with lots of tender spears that can be added to many dishes or simply eaten on their own try gently steaming, drizzling with olive oil and dressing with a few flakes of parmesan cheese.
