'Boulevard' is an incredibly impressive series of clematis bred by the award winning nurseryman, author, and photographer Raymond Evison at his nursery on the island of Guernsey. A world renowned expert in clematis breeding, his exhibits have won an incredible 29 gold medals at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. With that in mind, you just know that Boulevard clematis are sure to be something special. These compact clematis bloom all the way along their stems, resulting in a profusion of extravagantly large flowers from the ground upwards from June until November, an incredibly long flowering season. Their short stature makes them the perfect clematis for growing up obelisks and trellises, especially in containers. Also, they're great in hanging baskets too - an interesting alternative to the more usual trailing plants, with abundant flowers creating breathtaking displays month after month. Direct sow lawn seed from March to October whenever soil is moist. Mow area as short as possible before sowing. Remove any weeds or debris. Sow evenly across the area to a depth of 3mm in bare areas, or 2mm in areas that are thin. Water gently with a light sprinkler. In dry conditions, repeat watering until seeds have germinated and are well established.
