You really can't get a more striking plant for your late winter and spring garden than this beautiful Salix gracilistyla 'Mount Aso'. Also known as the Japanese Pink Pussy Willow, it is simply exquisite with its gorgeous pink fluffy catkins. These fuzzy bunny tails burst from the tight maroon buds as the temperature warms in early spring, bringing a splash of vibrant colour to your garden. Perfect for a winter garden, the pussy-willow catkins start to appear from late winter and last well into the spring, and the stems are truly impressive when cut and brought into the house for an early flower display. There really is something special and iconic about English Shrub Roses, which is the term for the old-fashioned type of classic rose with a very filled centre, their petals making the most remarkable patterns. New breeding over many years has made them much easier to grow in all gardens - big or small - either in larger pots or in borders and beds. This variety has been bred to have both a good fragrance, and superb disease resistance - not always possible with roses, but our growers have managed it! Best of all it is a repeat flowerer, and will bloom for 4-5 months with little dead-heading, although you may wish to keep them tidy. Epipremnum aureum, or Devils Ivy, is an evergreen vine in its native Polynesia where it uses aerial roots to climb up to 20 metres with enormous leaves that can reach a metre across. Fortunately, as a houseplant it is much less vigorous, yet still retains large, glossy green yellow-streaked leaves up to 10cm (4in) long. The trailing stems will grow and grow unless you cut them back, making this an ideal plant for cascading from hanging baskets or down shelving. Also looks fantastic climbing up a support such as a moss pole. Remarkably tolerant of low light, Epipremnum will even retain its leaf colour in near darkness.
