Here's a real novelty indoor plant that will provide interest every day as you see your own deliciously sweet pineapple develop atop this well-established, potted plant. A member of the Bromeliad family, it's the perfect indoor plant for a sunny kitchen or conservatory windowsill, needing little care and attention save a little water and the occasional feed. The plants are exactly the same as those used in commercial pineapple plantations across the world, so you can be assured of the best tasting fruit - right here in the UK on your windowsill. Do not confuse these big specimens with tiny decorative, non-edible plant available elsewhere online. Each plant is delivered with a pineapple fruit already growing so your plant is guaranteed to fruit this year. For best results water the compost keeping it moist and also keep a little water in the cups of the leaf rosette. When the pineapple is plump and ripe (about the size of an orange) remove and enjoy! Once the fruit is removed, an offset will appear which may fruit in following years and an entirely new plant can even be raised by cutting off the leaf crown and planting in compost.

Who could resist touching the fluffy red cylindrical flower heads that drip from the branches of this evergreen shrub during late spring and summer? Not many. But this native of Australia has more going for it than just its 'stroke me' qualities. The tiny leaves that cover its arching branches release a delicious lemony scent when brushed, and its arching branches provide all year round interest. Wherever you plant it its perfect as specimen in the lawn, grown against a wall or fence, or planted in large pots. A real sun lover, give it the brightest spot possible. You need to water a bottlebrush for its first season, but when established plants are extremely drought tolerant. Protect it in harder winters by covering with fleece or grow in pots so it can be moved indoors (a shed, front porch, garage or conservatory would be ideal).
It's hard to beat the sleek and simple lines of well-trimmed quality Buxus, adding a modern yet classic look to any garden. Used for centuries as a classic garden hedge or to form borders around other planting such as roses, Buxus sempervirens is a well-loved and instantly recognised feature of both formal and contemporary gardens. Equally at home in small or large gardens, box hedging is perfect for edges, borders and small boundaries, and makes neat hedges 1m tall over 10 years if required, although can be kept much smaller if needed. Whether dressing either side of a classic porch, or as a feature in minimalist decking gardens, it's hard to think of another easy to grow, yet versatile plant as good as Box. Supplied as an established plant in a 9cm pot, these 15-20cm plants are 3 years old and trimmed several times to give really bushy plants that make growing a box hedge easy. Plant one plant per 25cm (10in) for best results. Totally hardy too, leave them out all year - they look great covered in snow too! The key with Box is not to let them dry out - especially when in full sun for much of the day. Keep the roots cool and well-watered and they will grow 10-15cm per year. Do not trim for 2-3 years after planting, then lightly tip in summer as needed.
The World's first Hardy Gerbera in a range of bright, zingy neon colours, the 'Garvinea' series was launched 3 years ago to great acclaim across Europe. Well, now they have got even better! The breeders in Holland who created them have developed an improved series with much bigger flowers, and even longer lasting performance called the 'Sweet Series'! Bringing popular florists gerbera flowers to a garden perennial, they give an amazing 7 months of colour from spring to autumn every year - not many plants can do that. Retaining the same benefits of being winter hardy to around -8C and flowering for several seasons of colour, their highly distinctive flowers simply keep coming - up to 50 on a 2-year-old plant. We love them potted up in these bright & bold planters - a mix of 4 rainbow colours, you can mix and match your plants to your planters and creating an eye-catching display for your patio. Highly distinctive with their 'ruler straight' stems and perfectly symmetrical, upward facing flower heads, Gerberas are also highly prized as a cut flower so are ideal for cutting at the stem and bringing indoors for beautiful displays in vases on the windowsill.
