This product is offered for sale for home delivery exclusively via our website only. The images represent established plants, the supplied product may be younger. All heights listed are approximate and fully established plant heights may vary. The amount of foliage, buds or bloom on the plant will depend on what part of the season the product is purchased. Please see description below for full product details.Mature plants will produce delicious fruits and are winter hardy. The sweetly perfumed white flowers contrast beautifully against the deep green citrus-fragranced foliage, and the fruits smell simply divine - plus they're packed full of vitamin C, they're delicious and good for you too. Both of your trees arrive as young plants, 20-30cm tall including their 9cm pots, and are ready to grow on. Bring a little bit of the exotic into your garden while giving your health and wellbeing a boost by growing grapes, kiwis, and other exotic fruits. Supplied as 2 plants, 1 each of Orange 'Calamondin' and Lemon 'Citron', 20-30cm tall in 9cm pots.Top Tips- We recommend using our Soluble Citrus Fertiliser to ensure your trees grow into big, healthy specimens and, most importantly, bear lots of juicy fruit! For best results, bring indoors to cool area for winter. Feed with specialist feed every month in spring and summer growth - they are hungry fellows.Care Guide- The sweetly-fragranced flowers appear all year round, especially in late winter, and fruit ripens up to 12 months later - so plants are often in flower and fruiting at the same time.- Citrus tend not to thrive in centrally heated homes, so from mid-Jun to late September, give plants a treat and transfer them outside to make the most of the available sunshine - but remember they are not frost tolerant so will need bringing under cover if cold nights threaten.- In summer, water freely - ideally with rainwater, while in winter you can reduce the amount - allowing the surface to partially dry out before watering again. Always allow excess water to drain away.- Overwatering in winter is one of the commonest problems, so err on the dry side.- Only minimal pruning is required to reshape or remove dead or damaged shoots.Planting Time:April - SeptemberFlowering Time:March - AprilDecemberFruiting Time:November - DecemberAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire. All heights listed are approximate and fully established plant heights may vary. The amount of foliage, buds or bloom on the plant will depend on what part of the season the product is purchased. Please see description below for full product details.Instantly recognisable, garden pinks (Dianthus) are one of the hardest working and reliable plants that you can get, producing masses of fragrant ruffled flowers. Blooming reliably all summer - often well into the autumn months - they will fill your garden with vibrant colour and their sweet clove-like scent on warm evenings. Garden Pleasures is a range of compact garden pinks that are heavily perfumed and will produce large, double blooms in a range of sumptuous colours throughout the summer. Ideal for growing in pots, and perfect for sunny beds or patio pots and containers. The richly-coloured blooms are held on sturdy stems above neat cushions of slender, leaves, making pinks not only a fabulous garden 'doer' but also superb and long-lasting as cut flowers for you to bring in and enjoy indoors, where their intoxicating scent will fill your rooms. Plug plant perennials are a quick and easy way to achieve the look you want for your garden year after year! As they have been partially grown already, you can see how they will look and make landscaping your garden a breeze.Supplied as a collection of 12 plants, two each of the following varieties:- 'Lady Margo' bicoloured magenta flowers with a contrasting white edge.- 'Rosy Rosalyn' bicoloured ruby red flowers with a contrasting pink edge.- 'Aunt Agatha' bicoloured deep burgundy flowers with a striking white edge.- 'Mrs Coho' bicoloured salmon pink flowers with a edged in pink.- 'Queen Helene' rich coral pink flowers.- 'Blushing Bride' bright pink flowersTop Tips- Regular deadheading will ensure flowers right up to the first frosts.Care GuidePlanting Advice:- For most jumbo plug plant collections, the “mini Greenhouse” they are packed in will have a label on the outside, listing the individual varieties inside. We recommend writing your own labels out on receipt!- Give your plugs a little attention on arrival - unpack them immediately, and either mist them or stand them in water for an hour - they may be slightly dry or yellow after being in a dark box in the post, but they’ll quickly recover.- If you can’t do this, they can sit in Mini Greenhouses for a week if upright and not too wet.- We recommend that you leave them to settle for a day somewhere warm, light and airy such as a windowsill or greenhouse.- When you're ready to pot on, use a good quality, multi-purpose compost, and fill 3-4in pots (7-10cm).- Make a hole in the compost with a dibber or your finger, then holding each plug by its root ball, place it into the hole and gently firm the compost around it.- For great results, we recommend using our Windowsill Planters or 9cm pots in Shuttle Trays.- Give your plants a good water initially, then only when the top compost starts to dry as they don’t like to be left in standing water.- Grow on either on a bright windowsill or a greenhouse for 3-4 weeks before potting up into containers or into flower beds.- If planting directly into flower beds when all risk of frost has passed, prepare the ground well, removing weeds and digging in some compost or well-rotted manure if your soil is not already rich.- Plant approx. 20cm (8in) apart to allow them room to grow.Aftercare Advice:- Feed using a high-potash feed such as Blooming Fast Superior Soluble Fertiliser for Flowers & Fruits, to encourage flowering.- Dead head when flowers fade to encourage more blooms.Planting Time:February - NovemberFlowering Time:May - OctoberAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire. Phoenix Canariensis - Canary Island Date Palms - 2x Mature Potted Plants
  • £29.99

This product is offered for sale for home delivery exclusively via our website only. The images represent established plants, the supplied product may be younger. All heights listed are approximate and fully established plant heights may vary. The amount of foliage, buds or bloom on the plant will depend on what part of the season the product is purchased. Please see description below for full product details.A relative of the date palm, Phoenix canariensis is a large palm tree, with spreading deep green leaves arching elegantly from its attractive, stout trunk. During a hot summer, drooping bunches of creamy-yellow flowers may appear. Holding a prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit, the Canary Island date palm makes an excellent evergreen specimen plant for the patio or conservatory. Bring the warm glow and bright colours of the Mediterranean into your garden without the cost of a plane ticket. Mediterranean plants are a good way to create a strong focal point that will have visitors talking about and admiring for a long time. Supplied as a pair of mature potted plants, approx. 70-80cm tall (3ft) tall and in 15cm diameter pots. Top Tips- Despite looking like desert palms and being drought tolerant, to get best results, water them really well in spring & summer - do not let dry out.- In colder spots, bring in for winter, or tie fronds up together in a bundle to protect the centre of the palm.- If you're lucky enough to get shoots at the base of Phoenix canariensis, these can be carefully detached, along with any roots, and used for propagation. Pot each shoot in an 8cm (3 inch) pot of the standard potting mixture, place it in bright filtered light and water it sparingly-just enough to keep the mixture barely moist. After new top growth indicates that the shoot is well rooted, treat the young plant in the same way as a mature Phoenix canariensis palm.Care Guide- A slowly growing tree, Phoenix canariensis is easy to grow and care for .- Thriving in a sheltered site in full sun, with some shade at midday the Phoenix Palm is best grown on the Patio in a large pot and brought under cover in the winter.- When in growth, watering moderately and feed with a balanced fertiliser once a month at half strength. Water sparingly in winter.- If the plant becomes pot bound, pot on into containers 2.5cm (1 inch) larger when new growth starts in spring, using a compost with good drainage. In years when re-potting is not carried out, top-dress by removing 5cm (2in) of old compost from the top of the pot and replacing with fresh.- Pruning will only be needed to remove old fronds, which hang below horizontal. Do not remove those growing upright since this may slow the growth and reduce the palm vigour - remember that this palm has spines and sharp edges; use extreme caution when handling.Planting Time:March - AugustFlowering Time:June - AugustFruiting Time:SeptemberAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire. Pruning Advice for Box:- Pruning box is simple. Box is best clipped in July and August - any earlier and you risk damage from late frosts which can damage soft new growth while any later means that the new shoots are not hardened sufficiently for the following winter.- Old, scruffy plants can be clipped to 15-30cm of the ground (6-12in) to rejuvenate them.- The small leaf size of Buxus means that you can achieve a whole range of topiary shapes and styles with the minimum of experience - box is remarkably resilient.Planting Time:All yearAbout You GardenEstablished for over 50 years, our award winning trusted plant supplier are based in South Lincolnshire.
