A recent introduction, Gaura lindheimeri 'Gambit' is a compact perennial with delightful flowers held on long graceful stems above mounds of narrow foliage. Flowering from May all the way to September Gaura brings a wonderful splash of colour to your garden, and as it keeps on flowering right into the autumn, your borders will look magnificent, even as other summer flowering plants are fading away. With its fresh and airy look, our Gaura collection in shades of pink and white will add a delicate lightness to your planting, as its butterfly-like flowers dance in the breeze. Foliage is a compact cushion of deep burgundy flushed young leaves that mature to dark green, with flowers buds rising on wand-like stems before bursting open into beautifully bright flowers. A light, informal plant, 'Gambit' will fill gaps in your borders and because it's a prairie native, it looks fabulous in wildflower of cottage style planting schemes. It also does well in pots, where its long flowering season will brighten up your patio month after month. Easy to grow and fully winter hardy and drought tolerant, it prefers a warm spot in a light soil where it can happily grow upwards through other plants, a marvellous addition to any garden! Widely regarded as yielding one of the best superfruits, these dwarf blueberry bushes will make an attractive feature whether planted in pots on your patio or directly in the ground - as well as giving you an abundance of sweet-tasting berries to enjoy. Blueberry 'Blue Sapphire' will be smothered in pink-tinged white blooms in May, followed quickly by a bumper crop of delicious, deep-blue, juicy berries from June to July, each one packing a punch with antioxidants and vitamins. The flowers will attract bees and butterflies into your garden, but beware - the birds will love the berries and strip them from your bush the moment they ripen unless you protect the plant with netting. If you can place the bushes in a fruit cage, all the better! This hardy perennial prefers full sun or partial shade in acidic soil. Use ericaceous compost when planting in containers or mix some into the soil before planting in the ground. When the plants are established, use an ericaceous feed for maximum fruiting.
