The deep red fruit resemble large blackberries but are sweeter and more aromatic and can be enjoyed picked straight from the bush when they ripen in late summer - to get the best flavour wait until the berries are really deep red before picking. Grow in a sunny spot trained on a trellis, fence or best of all on wires against a sunny wall and you'll be picking pounds of fruit every year. Tayberries are easy to grow and problem free and the lovely blossom will attract many friendly insects to your garden. They're fully hardy too and will withstand the worst of winter cold. It is simply the first bush cherry, as opposed to a tree, so forms a nice neat clump of many fruiting branches right from the base - and as a result does not get too tall, making picking really easy. It yields well, is 100% self-fertile, and has the iconic spring cherry blossom too - so makes the perfect garden cherry. Growing fruit tress enhances the well-being of the environment and that of you and your family. Crops of fresh, heathy fruit right on your doorstep while replenishing the tree population and reducing plastic consumption. Supplied as a 3L pot grown bush, branching, and ready to plant all year.Top Tips- Pot-grown shrubs can be planted at any time of the year as long as the soil is not waterlogged or frozen. If in doubt, err towards spring but remember to keep pots well-watered so that the soil does not dry out. Look at the overall shape and aim for an open structure of branches and remove any that cross over so they don't damage each other. Trim longer new shoots back mid-summer for better shaped trees.- Harvest crops as soon as they ripen. Starting with buttery-yellow leaves in the spring, in summer the tree's foliage transforms into a display of bright yellow/lime, before its leaves complete their transition to golden orange with red margins in the autumn. Small crimson flowers appear in summer as the tree matures, contrasting beautifully with the butter-yellow leaves. Perfect for any garden, it is easy to grow and very hardy even in the coldest parts of the UK. Suitable for UK gardeners at every level of experience, you can therefore plant this in the garden with confidence, for stunning displays for many years to come. Golden Smaragd is a wonderful variety of Thuja, an evergreen conifer with a naturally narrow, conical habit. It is slow-growing with sprays of bright yellow-green aromatic foliage. Thuja is incredibly easy to grow and requires very little maintenance. It doesn't need regular trimming to keep it tidy, making it the ideal choice for hedging. It's amazingly hardy and can survive temperatures down to -45C, but should be protected from cold winter winds when young. Golden Smaragd is a handsome and colourful decorative tree, ideal as a specimen and perfect for bringing year-round height and structure to your beds and borders.
