Although Buddleia are renowned for being invasive by self-seeding freely, this is not the case with 'High Five Purple' because it produces very little seed, and what seeds do appear won't usually germinate, so no more picking out seedlings from your flower borders! Happiest in full sun 'High Five Purple' will also grow in partial shade and will remain neat and compact wherever you choose to plant it. With its long flowering season, it's a great border plant and is particularly good when grown in a decorative pot, looking like a flower arrangement that you've just finished creating! Try planting it amongst blue flowering plants for a cool, calming effect, or with orange and yellow for a popping colour contrast. The term 'fruits of your labour' has never been more appropriate than with these delicious 'Summer Lovers' raspberries. Is there anything more enjoyable than sitting on your patio on a summers day and eating plump and juicy purple raspberries straight from the plant? 'Summer Lovers' is classed as an autumn-fruiting raspberry, however once established it will start to bear fruit in the summer from the middle of July - 3 weeks before 'Autumn Bliss'. In addition, and as a contrast to the classic summer raspberries, this one is a primocane variety bearing fruit on new wood therefore meaning you will get fruit in the very first year - no need to wait a year for crops! Easy to maintain, it requires just a little prune to simply remove old canes once they are older than 18 months and that is it. A breakthrough in raspberry breeding, 'Summer Lovers Garden Purple' beats other established varieties in fruiting time, exceeding the current August crop of the earliest autumn berries. In fact, this variety has made the term 'autumn fruiting' obsolete as it matures in the middle of summer! Easy to grow and look after, this raspberry plant can be grown and picked without problem in small spaces, in the garden, on a balcony or terrace, as they reach less than a metre.
